Young Black Americans not sold on Biden, the Democrats or voting

Trump is going to win. While liberal CACs and misguided brothers/sisters will blame US, the truth is that the Democratic Party fumbled it. All this time and the best they came up with is Biden and Harris and still have no clear Black agenda. Where is Reperations? “We aren’t Trump” is not good enough for my vote.

We need our own party and force Democrats to actually earn our support. If they had a clear agenda regarding Black folks, our support would be clear.

Welp, this thread certainly increased my ignore list. The obvious russian plant/stormfront agent provocateur OP being the first one.

Opting out of participating in the only non-violent mechanism for meaningful change available is shortsighted and counter productive. People say the Republican Party is racist (and it is) and the Democratic Party doesn't do enough for us (and it doesn't). So to not vote for the lesser of two evils so to speak or at all does what for us? Nothing. In fact not voting without a doubt aids the party that has never, and will never, voluntarily cede ground with respect to legislating and ensuring equal treatment.

Sitting it out should never be our form or protest because it is the least effective and frankly imo a cop out for those not wanting to be inconvenienced by having to stand in long lines for hours to cast a ballot irrespective and uncaring of the many who lost their lives fighting for their Constitutionally mandated right to do so. :hmm:
I can't speak for the macro of Black society, for me individually, the same challenges I had under Obama I have under this administration. I thought Barack Obama was a good politician for the American Empire and I think that this current guy is the opposite. However, I got nothing for my vote. It is obvious that Jewish americans voted for Trump because one of the first things he did was name Jerusalem the new capital of Israel. This is an example of how other demographic groups get something of value for their collective vote.

Black Americans have watched our politicians serve other groups while taking our vote for granted for decades. We were screwed in '68 when they used the "minority" classification then proceeded to find minority groups from other countries to create a voting base off of our ancestors' suffering. You say that sitting is least effective, I say that sitting out might show these other non-white groups that white supremacy does NOT include them. Donald Trump is the president and leader that white america deserves. And if I am going to struggle and fight to live a life of fulfillment in a country rampant with anti black beliefs and neither of the politicians running plan on doing anything for me, what am I voting for? I know this is a very isolated opinion, selfish even. But my enemies are the same in 2020 as they were in 2014, in fact now my enemies are announcing themselves instead of ambushing me. The Democrats need our votes more than we need them as politicians, people are realizing that more and more. Other non-white people may need the Democrats' support and I wish them luck but I at least want to be kissed and sweet talked before I get fucked. It is going to be hard for me to vote this November if all I have to go is the lesser of two evils.

Post Obama period was always going to be tricky for Democrats...once the symbolism is out of the way then people want real action...the moderate side of the Democratic party that Biden represents (as well as Obama, Clinton, Harris etc) should be glad that Sanders was racially tone deaf because if he wasn't Biden would not be the nominee...Democratic party is in trouble long term as much as the Republican party is....just two different kinds of trouble....one faces demographic issues that undercut its core racist voting bloc and the other faces a put up or shut up moment when people demand that you actually follow through on the progressive ideas you preach....and not from a let trannys piss in the girls bathroom perspective....but from an income equality keeps getting worse perspective...young Black America wants more than gestures

This vote for us because the other guy is horrific type of campaign has been going on before Trump came into the picture...it is not sustainable long term...I believe people will show up in November due to how bad Trump is and the fact that there is a real crisis going on but the Dems should not take it for granted...there are serious times ahead for the party and its Black base

Oh yeah...fuck this article for peddling that lie about 2016....Hillary lost because she couldn't win with White Women, her own demographic

Yeah I think looking back it was historic having Obama as the first "black president" but I think it was bad in a sense because it allowed us to view him as a black president rather than a president, in other words we expected more from Obama than we would have expected from lets say John Kerry or another white democrat.

Obama came and went and it was kinda bad, he got critisim from all sides and now we're back to another white man who actually harmed alot of black males in the 90s. I think it was a bad move, America needs us to stay asleep and they gave us that and we see the presidency in a different light now.

I think a problem the dems have with us is there's too much information out there, everything you posted would have been harder to find pre-internet and social media, it's simply too easy to get informed these days and it's obviously becoming a problem. You're 100% correct but for white America you don't want people realizing this.

WELL SAID!! Now prepare to get attacked by Obamabots, the #KHive swarm, and the BangBidenBros.

"People should not fear the government...The government should fear the people."

A lot of yall sound scared.

Man, I'm voting for this pathetic ticket out of a deep sense of pragmatism (there are very important reasons to vote for this depressing duo over Trump) buuuuttttt I totally understand why so many folks are disaffected.

Any stern words or finger-wagging needs to be reserved for the DNC who put this tonedeaf, horseshit ticket together.

The only folks who need to be legit excited about this duo are corporations, big banks, private prisons and purveyors of the status quo. Let's hope they win in spite of themselves :smh:

All that needs to be said. :lol:I am still trying to figure out who this ticket is designed to excite :smh: I am voting early and then not reading/watching anything political until after the election. Trump has to go but I wish I was actually voting for somebody instead of just voting solely against him.

Biden sucks, I am still voting for him, though. I am taking the day off, I will be first in line, fuck the bullshit. This aint the time to sit on those votes. Black folks will not make it through 4 more years or Trump amd another Supreme Court Seat. Ginsberg will be dead within a year. Stop fucking around.

Any motherfucker in my family that does not vote, will never sit at my dinner table.

I have voted in every election since I was 18. Being young is no fucking excuse. Ninjas just want to bitch and moan about the system without participating.

Maybe if the youth banded together as a voting block they could actually change shit. :smh:

Fuck em, I'll be dead and gone when the global warming destroys the planet and them bitches are in their 40's living some mad max shit still suffering from Covid-19

Since you were 18. How old are you now? And what major changes have you seen since you began voting?

Maybe if the youth banded together as a voting block they could actually change shit. :smh:

Fuck em, I'll be dead and gone when the global warming destroys the planet and them bitches are in their 40's living some mad max shit still suffering from Covid-19

That "get mine and fuck the rest" mentality of older generations is just as big a problem as young people's apathy.

I understand the folks who do not wish to vote for the lesser of two evils but a suitable analogy against that way of thinking is you have two groups. One that by its actions says I'm never going to do anything meaningful for you and the other that says I can't give you everything you want but I can despite opposition get you some of what you deserve. All I ask in return is your vote so that more of what you deserve can be realized. For me the choice is simple, something or nothing. We have to be realistic and pragmatic.

This is America, a nation founded and developed on the backs of exploited people. It is foolish to think this white run nation will ever voluntarily fully embrace equality for all. However, knowing that does not mean we shouldn't keep pushing and using the most powerful weapon we have, the vote. It's pretty simple really, the party getting the most votes has the most power. Now do you want that power to rest in the hands of those who will never address your needs or with the party that will at least consider them and has record of more that just paying lip service by progressing and enacting beneficial legislation, albeit not enough. To a starving man half a load is better than none, and all a "if you don't play me I'm gonna take my ball and go home" attitude does is ensure that the game will continue with another ball belonging to a team that desires to keep you on the bench. :hmm:

my only critique is this:

we've been protesting for the the last few months for change...these changes don't magically happen

in this country they happen by voting....im neither here nor there on the national elections but to not participate is local elections is foolish....you wasnt to defund the police and have meaningful change? well your mayor and city council is over the police dept.....we have to vote.

'Besides 'You Ain’t Black,' What Do You Have to Say to Young Black Voters?'

Who is advising these young Black men to not Vote for Biden in this damn election? Man we all NEED definitive changes, but of Black folks wanted something different they HAD THE PRIMARY. Now fuck all that dissent vote or die young man. Trump, with a Repub Senate, 6-3 SC and 250 fed judges to overturn every damn decision in our favor will DESTROY us.

Stop fucking playing.
