Premarket buzz:

MTP, TBLT, MESO, HX, SNDL

IPO I'll be watching: CVAC - Vaccine company

I've limited myself on PM plays...when did you get out?
I told myself I wasn’t going to make anymore PM plays myself after catching a few pretty bad losses. A lot can happen between 4 and the time the market opens. But it started running and some idiots kept posting in the Webull comments that they were allowing warrants to be exercised at 6.50 so it started running and I couldn’t help myself. Got in at 2.95 and out at 4.01 I put 4000 in it so I’m good with that. 400 dollars in 15-20 minutes. I’m good. I wish I new about day trading a long time ago.

I'm trying to be like you! I wouldn't want to go to work today either...

Those are the only type of plays I like to make. If I can put 4 or 5 gs in one good play a day I’m happy. But of course it doesn’t work like that. I have about 7 in webull and 7 in E*TRADE and then I have to wait for my cash to settle if I trade it all. But I do pretty decent in addition to my day job. I’m no pro like some the other traders in this thread. I’m a small time amateur lol

That’s a nice gain...if you can average $400 a week for 1 month that’s an extra $2,000 or $24,000 per year. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

I’m not sneezing at it at all. I’m grateful to have learned how to make my money work for me. Wish I had learned a long time ago.

How easy/effective is it to buy/sell AH and premarket? Do the orders get filled relatively quickly to avoid slippage?

Mine always get filled. I have never had a problem premarket. AH I have had some delay at times. Not sure why.

GTC = Good til cancelled. In contrast, if you put in a EXT order, it will cancel itself at market close. Be careful with GTC, you could open a position you forgot about.
I usually don’t open but one order at a time but I can see how that could happen. I’m just in a habit of hitting it.

I hope MARA makes a run this afternoon. The inflow to outflow ratio is crazy It has to run today. I’m still holding a bag from last week lol with bitcoin over 11,800 and the news of their contract to purchase new miners. It’s getting a little volume and slowly inching up. My 300 dollar bag is down to 180.... damn shame lol

Long term goals....

What are the risk of investing in index funds etc to generate passive yearly returns?

I'm assuming the market crashing and reducing the value of x,y,z index fund is the biggest..

yea, looks like around noon sometime, smh. i wish i knew that. i would have drop something on it smh

New ipo’s alway shoots up like this on the first day. It might continue to climb but it might also go back down. You didn’t miss anything.

You can look into spac’s and and buy them before the acquisition dates and sell them after the merger. It’s a better shot than to try and buy an ipo.

I feel you...I have a 9/20 $2 call. Still hopeful for some good news and a push around the time school is supposed to start around Labor Day..
I’m just disgusted bruh but I did it to myself. I should have known when the run up stalled on Monday and took my profits. I didn’t even look at the market after this morning. I needed to step away. Back at it next week. I have a few Iron Condors expiring next week but MU shit the bed so next Friday could be ass for me as well. I need that joint to make a solid recovery.

Yea man definitely, the weekend is here step away and come back fresh... In the words of Larry June: "You gotta go through it to gain from it, that's just how it go.." Let mistakes be stepping stones to success..

Not all new ipo’s run up initially. I took a small loss on JAMF but I was determined to make it back off that motherfucker with day trades and I did in 2 days. Webull has a section dedicated strictly to IPOs and they also keep it on calendar the dates new ipos are going public and listed. The day an IPO is listed it usually starts trading around 10:30 if they have all their shit together and aren’t changing the list price of the stock at the last minute. If a stock ups their listing price to much at the last minute expect it to drop. That just means that not enough shares were bought before listing and they are changing paperwork at the last minute and they don’t have their shit together and people are going to take profits as soon as it lists. That’s just what I have witnessed personally. Mind you I’m no expert just going off my own personal observations so please don’t advise people to jump into any new IPO. I made a mental note to keep up with all new listings but it slipped my mind. I’m going to make sure I check the Webull calendar everyday for new listings from this day forward because whoever got in today made bank. I’m waiting on Palantir to go public. I made a mental note of that and just forgot about ipos all together. Won’t make that mistake again.

yes, I’ve seen ipo’s tanked before too. This does happen. All I was really doing is saying that SPACs are a better way to invest in ipo’s. I’ve just recently learned about SPACs and how they work.Of course if you’re investing there’s a chance that a company that you invest in could tank and you should always do due diligence.
