They might have to shut baseball down.

12 members of the Miami Marlins have tested positive. They played Philadelphia yesterday, and the Yankees are the next team to play Philadelphia. You think they want to go into that visitor's locker room that the Marlins were just in? By the way, the Marlins played the Washington Nationals in an exhibition game, and the Nationals played the Braves in an exhibition game. See where this is going?

Just saw this on SC. Baseball is done for the season. Grand Opening, Grand Closing.
Yep. They couldn't even make it past the first week before an outbreak occurred.
And this will have a ripple effect to college football and the NFL.
They too think they can play on, business as usual.
Imagine this but on a larger scale with a football team.
Sports (not played in a bubble) is done for this year.

but if there wasn't a ton of tv money at stake, the push to have a season wouldn't be as strong though.
Yep, this is all about the money.
If the sports leagues shut down, then the TV networks will rightfully ask for their money back.
The sports leagues get most of their money from the TV networks.
If that happens, then the players don't get paid (if at all).
There's a domino effect to everything.

And this surprises you why? I have said at least a dozen times and made a thread that sports are done until there's a viable vaccine..... but the desire for $$$$ and overall stupidity pushes on

And again, you're wrong

Everything from golf, tennis to soccer are back

It has nothing to do with stupidity...it has to do with what if there is no vaccine....what if it takes three or four years

You're going to stay in your house for four years?

Actually, it was the players who refused to be in a bubble for a whole season, which is only 60 games this season.
The demographics in MLB are a lot different than the NBA.
MLB is mostly white boys who refuse to wear masks and still think this whole thing is a hoax.

Probably the power of MLB players union :dunno:
