A movement to change Simon Fraser University’s sports team nickname is building steam, amid a new petition and social media campaign.
SFU’s sports teams are known as “The Clan,” a reference to explorer Simon Fraser’s Scottish heritage.
But it is often misinterpreted as a reference to the white supremicist group the Ku Klux Klan, particularly in the U.S.

I thought they changed that horrible Chief Wahoo logo some years ago? Anyway, indian(s) is certainly pejorative if not derogatory and should have been changed long ago.
Chiefs isn't bad because it's a position of authority within Native American tribes. Braves isn't bad because it's a warrior within the Native American tribes.

That logo is not the main logo of the Indians inside the stadium but it's still on alot of merchandises. It's getting phased out though

If,the team do change the name it will end a long battle. The Native Americans here been trying to get the team to changed its name before I was born.
I think they will change it.

But you will. That is why the name change is bullshit because all it will do is bring in new revenue in merchandising for the team.
The old merchandise can still be sold as “vintage” or “throwback”. More ploys that the emotional fall for to get whites richer. It is sad that brothas still don’t see it and fall for the tricks.
