You'll know this man's death is gonna open up a lot of jobs for white women right? We're gonna be used again as a source of sympathy to get non-blacks more income and more job security.

Remember the Ray Rice incident? Three whole white women are getting paid as advisers now.

Smh. They must do master/slave role playing during sex.

They been married how long and he still doesn’t get racism?

All of the women I know in interracial relationships have either preemptively gone full militant or replaced their daily "happy interracial family" posts with inspirational quotes. You would think some were single now...

Slave Play Donates $10,000 Intended For Awards Season to National Bailout Fund

Just because the show has closed, doesn’t mean its impact has to stop. The team behind Slave Play, whose Broadway run ended in January, has stepped up to the plate and pledged $10,000 to the National Bailout Fund, while challenging other productions to follow their lead. “For too long we have witnessed black bodies be made objects to consume and destroy by agents of white supremacy,” begins a statement posted on Slave Play’s official Twitter page, “as black people have been forced to fight for their right to be. This week across our nation black voices have yelled out as one to say ‘Enough is enough.’ The creative team and producers of Slave Play stand with voices across the world to say ‘Black lives matter’ with a recognition that the work we can do and have done on Broadway is very different than the work being done on the ground today.”
If you’re wondering how a production that has been closed for 5 months managed to scrounge up $10k, Slave Play playwright Jeremy O. Harris revealed that the funds, in part, came from money the production was originally allotting for award season, which has largely been canceled due to coronavirus. “After seeing the amazing leadership of @constitutionbwy the producers and myself ransacked the funds we had squirreled away for awards season and donated to @NationalBailOut,” tweeted Harris, referencing NYTW’s What The Constitution Means To Me which donated $6000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. “We challenge other shows/institutions to do the same read the letter below.” Slave Play’s donation comes after a fraught week for the theater community in which multiple black theater-makers called out the racism within the Broadway community. Even though there are unfortunately no Tony Awards this weekend, we think Slave Play deserves an honorary Tony for consistently doing what the other girls have yet to do.

Lego Pulls Advertising for Police-Related Toys, Donates $4 Million to Fight Racism and Inequality

Lego is taking a firm stand in support of protestors and the Black Lives Matter movement. On Wednesday, June 2, Lego announced on Twitter that it would donate $4 million to “organizations dedicated to supporting black children and educating all children about racial equality.” The toy company behind the popular The Lego Movie franchise and The Lego Batman Movie did not stop there, however, as it went on to announce that it would remove any marketing for any toy sets that include police characters or are based around a police theme. An email acquired by Toy Book sent to Lego’s affiliate marketers requests removal of product listings and features for more than 30 Lego building sets, mini-figures, and accessories that include representation of police officers, firefighters, criminals, emergency vehicles, and buildings. Given the political undertones of The Lego Movie, it’s no surprise that Lego is putting its money where its mouth is in regards to issues pertaining to social justice. Everything is not awesome, but Lego is doing its part to fix that.
