That Selfish fuck could be asymptomatic and give that shit to someone that can cause death...... And he will not take responsibility for it.

Finally found the testing data for each state, so I did a comparison for Noth Carolina for daily testing versus daily confirmed cases. To no surprise, both daily cases and tests are increasing. North Carolina is testing at an exponential rate.

In other words, more testing will yield more cases. As of now, I can not determine if more cases would have occurred without the increased testing by the state. Once I can determine that stat, then that could give us an indication of more people being infected regardless of the increased testing.

Yeah, I figured there is more testing. I am weary when people use like 'growing death toll' without putting shit into context. A lot more confirmed cases can come about with more testing. I'm more interested in the daily deaths. To me, that tells the story of how this thing is going. Are those numbers up, down, or staying the same is what I want to know.

I appreciate all your hard work. It's would I comb this thread for these days.

The truth of the matter is that lockdown is a luxury, its a luxury that the middle class and developed countries are enjoying at the expense of the poor the vulnerable and the less developed countries. and its a huge crisis.

You’re welcome, fam.

We have to put these numbers into context. For example, the northeast and mid-Atlantic states accounting for 50% of all COVID19 cases is context.

Testing rate vs confirmed rate is context. And as you mentioned, daily death tolls is context.

That’s why I try and think of different ways to present the data, so we can put what we are dealing into context.

The local news media have been weirdly vague all week reporting this story (even today they still just say "several" students). Had to go to a British paper to get any real details :eek2:
Affluent Atlanta neighborhood sees spike in COVID-19 cases after 'more than 30' prep-school students test positive following graduation party 'hosted by doctor's son'
  • The Lovett School in Atlanta informed parents last week that several seniors had tested positive for COVID after drive-through ceremony on May 17
  • One student later hosted a graduation party for students and traveled interstate with a group of friends
  • Since then, new cases have exploded in the upscale Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead
  • More than 100 new cases have been reported in just five days, according to local health department data
  • Cases increased by more than 20 percent in less than a week in three of the five zip codes associated with the Buckhead neighborhood
  • A concerned parent told DailyMail.com he fears the cluster will escalate and become a 'huge issue' as schools start reopening and seniors go off to college

Well done, 4D. Please keep up the good, informative work.

I signed up for one this year. I was pissed when they went behind the paywall last year but I made a decision to support journalism. I subscribed to the magazine anyways for the last several years.

I subscribe to my local paper and wapo. I was thinking of NYT and the Atlantic tho, especially since covid has hit.

Like I said before the U.S. is completely fucked I don't live in Brazil. Most of the country(USA) still hasn't been tested properly and more than likely won't be. Its a possibility millions are already infected and are hiding, don't believe the official counts.
