Didn't read thru the post but if it wasn't mentioned, niggaz need to check out Hip-Hop Evolution on Netflix. My brother had been harassing me for months to watch it. And with this Corona, i didn't have shit else to do. Shit was cool. Had a lot of info on the southern scene i wasn't up on.
Check out the second season of Mogul podcst on Spotify. It gives a history of 2 Live Crew, detailed stuff. Points out the influences on that sound, linking the immigrants and thier music. HowFresh Kid Ice an Marquis got involved. The court cases and the rift.

Afrika Islam of Zulu nation Bronx river introduced hip hop and the 808 drum machine to Egyptian lover in California and uncle jams army which is why Cali first hip hop
