"WW C"- COVID-19, GLOBAL CASES SURPASS 676 MILLION...Here we go again 2025 are we ready for Trump to fuck this up again?

A bit off the subject of the OP:

I agree that illegal immigrants occupy many of the laborer jobs that many do not want to work.

But, I would argue from experience that the "hard working" black American mentality has changed. There was a time when black men would work whatever job they needed to in order to provide for their family. Not anymore, I work closely with numerous staffing agencies in my region. My interest is helping help folk, particularly black men find gainful employment. There are always custodial, assembly line, food service, etc jobs available. Do black men 35 and under want these jobs??? Hell no!! Many would rather be unemployed than do that work. The older black dudes? Less resistance, still hesitant. Hispanics?? Not the case. I get so pissed, but I cant make a person take a job they do not want do to. Plus, if you do convince someone to do the job temporarily, more often than not, they will be the worst employee ever due to the lack of motivation. My point, black folk are not working in any field in any part of this country. I cant see it.

Much of the mentality about the jobs you speak of comes from what many WOMEN think about the Men who take those jobs.
And WE as a Community have to be real about that.

If you only knew how much shit I had to put up with from my Ex-Wife, The Mom's, The Sister, and other "Sistas" when I took a Grocer's gig over fighting to look for work in a field in which I had at least 30+ Years in Graphics/Publishing. They had no understanding that jobs in that industry were drying up or becoming Freelance. And I wasn't going to fall into the trap of the latter.

Many Brothers here know my story.
I've been in Grocery Retail for 15 years now.
I see what you speak of in the younger set I work with.
And I'm a few years shy of 60.

My story reads almost the same as yours and yes some but not all women do not understand.

Went from finance to blue collar work to still pay the bills and was getting grief to find a job similar to the last one, but technology that we have now killed my job and thousands of others.
