Growing up, I would get the Playboy magazines from a white kid who's father would toss them if the Playmate of the month was Black, hispanic or dark skinned Southern Asian.
I became aware of Player's Magazine when an older kid told me that I should check out Player's, he told that all the women are Black or mixed, they show the pussy more and there are more women in each magazine (Playboy typically just has the Playmate unless they are doing a feature on a celeb or some other themed photoshoot)
But I could not find them anywhere, many drug dealers in my hood sold porn on the side, I asked one that I knew if he had any and he said no. Finally I ran into a dude who was willing to sell them to me for $1 each.. I had bought two or three and I was very impressed. Literally legends of Black porn and Black nude modeling, Keli Stewart, Desiree West, Jeannie Pepper, Ebony Ayes, Donna Ambrose, Nina Deponca and more.. I ended up giving him $40 for a crate full of them.

I loved my Playboy mags and still do but when it comes to raw sexiness, Players and Blacktail did it better and did on a much smaller budget.
Playboy was still mainstream in the 90s, it was common to see Playmates on TV and Playboy had the huge budgets, for big time photoshoots and big time video centerfolds (Taking Venice Kong back to Jamaica in 1985 is still my favorite Playboy video) but Players could take a porn-star on her off-day and create something super hot with just a bedroom setting and a pair of high heels.
