Jesse Jackson endorses Bernie Sanders for president

Which is exactly why I am so vexed and saddened by the majority of black America supporting Biden. We're going backwards from 2008.

Putting the presidential election (which I believe to be a lost cause) aside, something has to change.
I haven't seen the numbers. But outside of southern blacks over age 60 I'm not sure he is getting majority of remaining black vote.

And he had zero shot at getting black 60+ votes who are conservative and loyal to Biden due to familiarity and proximity to Barack and Michelle.

You can be upset but you shouldn’t be surprised.

There was a lot of apathy after Obama failed to deliver for non-whites and seeing things stay the same for the most part has more people waking up to the corporate sham.

The key is voting in the local and state elections because the President is SELECTED anyway, however, seeing who people support for POTUS is the most interesting aspect of it all. Biden is clearly the most destructive candidate to the so-called black community and that is an irrefutable fact based on his record so you have to question the intent of any so-called black person that supports him.

Well, in the 2000s I would have been surprised. But I learned that the masses ain't shit. Sadly, I also learned that black voters are by far the easiest demographic to manipulate --- and it's not ever close. The Biden support just reaffirms what I have been saying for several years now.

i don't know what has to change. Situation seems hopeless. Exploited at the local level. Exploited at the national level.

Get ready for the Bernie Bros to talk down about " Messy Jesse" now that he's endorsed their god. Btw you'll be waiting a long time for those hypocrites to do that.

Valid point. I'm not entirely sure of the age split but he's definitely doing better with younger black people than older folks. I know in general young people aren't turning out the way he needs them to, but I'm not sure how black people in particular fit into that trend.

And, of course, most states haven't voted and the south isn't representative of the whole country. Maybe the silver lining is that young black people, at least based on this election, seem to have a very different outlook than the older black people who prefer a senile moderate.

whew, what a relief. i didnt want to make a decision based on my own knowledge and waited until the super relevant jesse jackson told me who he was voting for
I was just wondering what Jesse thought about....anything

I'm not comparing the two in terms of accomplishments but you idiots would probably shit on Dr. King if he were alive today.

"i'm so glad the super relevant malcolm x chimed in"

GTFOH with that "What have you done for me lately" nonsense. The acts for which we are most indebted were done before most of us were even born.

I love when people start with shit like "I'm not comparing" then compare lol

he getting the gamut so many southern black folk in my age range( 30's) are all in on Biden it's mystifying

You clearly just wants us to give up, but we won't.

I loved Jesse's quote "our needs are not moderate"
True but black folk can't trust white folk to do the right thing when it comes to voting its why they ain't fucking with Bernie... Warren is clearly the better candidate. Black folk right now is doing risk assessment and Joe Biden is getting their vote...

Besides Jackson lost his clout years ago lmaooo

Sanders is best for middle and lower classes, but you have to be pragmatic. The majority of the Electorate is undereducated and uninformed as to the true nature of Democratic Socialism and will not vote for anyone who political designation includes the word Socialist. Biden ain't the best but I'd vote for anyone with a pulse to get Trump out of office. :hmm:

We hear Sander's words and what his plans are. We hear him talk about his plans but we also heard him say he doesn't know how much those plans of his will cost. Thirty something years in congress and Mr. Consistent doesn't know how much his Democratic Socialist plan will cost?
Yet you claim Bernie is the best for the middle class? Shit the "middleclass" is worried about having to shoulder more of the burden.

I was speaking strictly in terms of his positions that would irrefutably benefit all except the rich like medicare for all and a mandatory minimum wage Paying for them is a different matter and I am not in disagreement with you. He'd have to raise taxes on the rich and not by a little and relegate Insurance companies back to their level of involvement prior to Nixon instituting HMO's. Problem is he'd have to convince a bought and paid for Congress and that's not likely. :hmm:

That's a good point and I can understand why that might give some voters pause. At the same time, I haven't heard any solid numbers on how much Biden's plan to prioritize LGBTQ and immigrant issues will cost.
