Rapper Pop Smoke dead

I don’t want to be right, I want to be wrong. I want positive music to outsell negative music.

Look at the charts, prove me wrong.

O.C. was tired of the popularity and repetitive gun shoot’em up rap in 1994. And he wasn’t alone.

Yes to a degree, but not as thoroughly as you I imagine.

niggas rap about murder and self destruction and cats get sad when they die by murder and self destruction
niggas pointing imaginary guns at the camera imagining shooting someone who look like themselves
just another white supremacist gone in my eyes
and since niggas aint nothing but the soldiers of white supremacy
its simply bye nigga!

U could say that being u learned from growing older but that was a 20 yr old kid that didn't get to learn all the lessons of life.

When I was 20 I was doing hella shit I'm not proud of now at 39 I really didn't begin to grow as a man until I turned like 31-32 cause I still was with the shits but now Im a completely different person but some of those bad habits are hard to break like having too much pride.

On yeah to settle the argument about gangsta rap vs positive rap.. McDonald's sells fries and chicken mc nuggets... I can guarantee you they sell more fries than nuggets but guess what they not taking nuggets off the market cause even thought it sells less than fries it sells enough to be a very profitable option on the menu... So when you compare a 6 million copies sold compared to 4 million sold no bizz man is gonna completely turn that 4 million copies sold.. They gonna continue to keep selling both cause combine that 10 million records sold.. And 10 million records sold combine is better than juss taking in 6 million sold.. So gangsta and positive music both could of been sold its just that as some people have pointed out that positive music was doing to well that it could possibly influence individuals to do better.. When you have an agenda you willing to take a loss as far as funds to get your agenda executed.. They risk positive music sales for the agenda of pushing and influence negative imagery to fuck with the viewer/listener

Let remember that McDonald is a franchise with many different owners. So if all of the franchises aren't selling 4 million worth of salad. Then they will stop selling those salads and instead sell you more shit that clogs up your arteries because it's more profitable.

The Chronic was a “Huge-er” success.

Exactly what is your point again?

My statement is that people like negativity and that negativity sells. Look at the some of the most glorified movies in our community, “Scarface” etc...

Before you start, yes I know “Driving Miss Daisy” was a popular movie too but that’s not the point!

Positivity sells too, matter fact, they've been selling the most as of recent. J Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Chance, Childish Gambino ....dominate sales and streaming.

The problem with most conscious rappers is that the same rules apply just like the negative rappers. Still gotta have hits, music/imagery can't be wack, gotta have appeal, mass appeal. Still gotta be a part of the wave. Everybody can't be on trap vibes and you on some 90's east coast underground shit. Still gotta compete with the negative rappers in the market. Still gotta be marketed well.

You know what?

You’re right about positive music doing well, very well now and probably the biggest sellers! We can throw Drake into that mix meaning “Not Gangsta Rap”.

I was thinking historically.

bruh i dont know about that
at 20 life consisted of getting pussy and having fun
it wasnt on some white supremacist kill a nigga, any nigga can get it bs
these niggas are the front line soldiers of white supremacy
they dont have this energy for the zimmermans tho

I sense a revision of black culture hip hop coming back b/c of the onslaught of rappers being murdered.

A Newer Wave of Rap Coming To Our Communities Near You

This discussion/argument over positive vs negative music promotion has been going on for a while, but I'd like to interject a concept I haven't yet heard mentioned: profit margin. Right or wrong, I know some subscribe to the conspiracy theory that big money, media producers and promoters consciously choose to push negative messages to undermine black culture. However, I believe it may have something to do with how much easier and cheaper trap music is to produce due to younger less savvy artist, fewer professional musicians, often only street backdrop videos, etc. If they spend less to sell as much or more, its a no-brainer which message they invest in more. I've never invested in music, but could this be a part of it?

Why what they said about Florida
They always tryna get Florida outta here cause of all the dumb shit that happens down here. Especially last year.
