Rapper Pop Smoke dead

“Stick up kids is out to tax..”

I doubt it my brotha. So long as that white mans check keeps clearing, we’re gonna keep glorifying violence and braggadocio to the end.

This death ain’t the first one and won’t be the last.

Sadly peace and love don’t sell.

but cac`s saw the danger in tht n shut tht shit down quick ...

This is all I really knew about him.
Some dudes smacked him up when he was young. He came and got some get back a few years later.
Shit happens.

Does it though? Lets look at the world we live in.

Human beings are OBSESSED with death and destruction. Rappers, athletes, entertainers, politicians, senators, presidents and anyone else you can think of, are GLORIFIED in their death but never celebrated in the same manner when they’re here and breathing.

The 80’s & 90’s has a brief period of positivity for sure, which even carried over to the 90’s part of hip hop, but they were more riddled in life experiences and tales from the streets. Personally I wish this would come back, but I digress.

We do all this bs for a paycheck. That’s more or less the cut and thrust of it and has been for a very long time.

It sucks, but it’s also the reality of our world. We’re divided as hell for that almighty dollar.

Always outside like this in the neighborhood they live in.

They can't help it, it's an addition.

I swear.
My wife and I was watching his video last year.
the one where he is in Canarsie, Brooklyn. (Welcome To The Party)
she said,
"oh my God, they gonna kill that little boy. He's giving me that 6ix9ine - Bobby Schmurda vibe.
I hope I'm wrong."

This is soooo fucked up.
This is what these little kids inspire to be.
School is not even on their radar.

Why rapper dudes always getting robbed or shot on some home invasion shit? Same thing happened to DaBaby but he was strapped. Any home security? I got Ring cameras all around my crib plus my big ass English Mastiff. Keep a couple of them big breeds and someone will think twice about running up in your crib.

I remember the music and its popularity but most of the positive music weren’t moving units like that. Yes there were a couple

But it was still about Gangsta shit back then.

And I’m not sure we have “The white man” to blame on this one. Most gravitate towards negativity.

Once people heard “Fuck tha Police” and “Gangsta Gangsta” it was a wrap!

He didn't even get to live his life and what bothers me is that 9 times out of 10 it was someone that looks like him that killed him.
It's not the white man that we need to watch out for,it's us no matter where you go,from coast to coast, the hood to the hills

i see where youre coming from but people have always clamored for feel good stories and music
you can think about the music from lennon to the conscious hip hop movement in the early 90s to combat gang violence
but that shit gets silenced by the elite when its working...and those artists fucking die
i remember being a teenager and you had all kinds of music....love songs, positive hip hop, gansta rap, r&b, smooth jazz etc.
and kids dressed accordingly. some wore travel foxes, kross colors, khakis, and shit like that
next thing you know everyone is sagging wearing white tees and looking like fucking criminals..even the suburban kids
thats when i realized the power of music and how you can control the masses through it
niggas sit in front of the idiot box all day fantasizing about a lifestyle theyll never obtain and base their behavior off of that image
its just destruction

So long as we keep lusting for money, it’s never gon stop.

It’s the culture, “Snatch your chain”, “Ante Up”, “Run Those Jewels”, “Stick up kids”.

Hey, people/rappers glorify that aspect. So they can’t act shocked or be mad or blame others when...

I don’t respect thieves so my viewpoint is different.

arrested development went platinum
latifah back then on her conscious shit went platinum
tribe, de la soul always went platinum
xclan always went gold
and so on
the shit sold very well and then it was silenced

My brotha I’m all for it. I’ll take all the Al Green, EWF, Temps love songs all day long. Bring it all back as far as I’m concerned, cause what we got today?

This ain’t it.

They may have not been moving units, but they were motivating movements of positivity, and pride in oneself.

I've said alll of this before.

Rap was dangerous to white supremacy. Brothas were preaching black unity, foregoing gold for leather African medallions, and rediscovering our heritage..

The last thing "they" wanted was a woke, unified people...who could make demands for what was rightfully ours...

So, overnight it seems our music was used against us and the only thing marketed was gangbanging, drug selling, and negativity.

Imo, that was no accident.
