Propaganda and hype. Hollywood’s is good for it. They know how to make things win when they want to. Plus if you hate it or love it people still tune in to see a train wreck or to confirm why they knew they hated it.

He's active on TV, in film and on stage - gets recognition for many of his role choices.

Back on topic: The only gay character in a tv show that didn't wear homosexuality on their sleeve was Max in the show Happy Endings. He come off as a dude that just happened to be gay. The character had no stereotypical gay tropes like being flamboyant, an expertly manicured appearance, or saying stuff like "guuuurl".

In this case with the MCU, nah. There have been Black characters in the vast majority of Marvel tv shows and movies. What I can’t think of is an example of a Black male superhero that has a father is both present in their lives and hasn’t done something that’s fucked up. Black Panther came close but even his dad did some really foul shit. Anyway, there are more archetypes of Black men who appear to be heterosexual than homosexual so again, no Hollywood agenda.
