The Impeachment Hearings , House Vote and Eventual Trial ..All Updates ...AS EXPECTED... TRUMP SKATES

I hope the democrats start focusing on election 2020 and stop wasting time and money on Donald trump. Why not start focusing on actually winning a election 2020 instead of focusing on a short cut.

But looking at the mainstream media and the democrats faces. It looks like we are heading to a impeachment 2. They don’t know how to take a L. Trump has fucked there heads up and they are all into there emotions and don’t know how to move on from the election 2016.

sooo what legal precedents are being set??

a sitting president can ignore subpoenas
a sitting president can enlist the help of foreign countries in our election
a sitting president can engage quid pro quos with government money for their personal advantage as long as they BELIEVE its in the public interest
a sitting president can bypass the proper channels to conduct personal business with foreign countries using public funds

anything else??
The POTUS can profit from the office.

I couldn't make it past your point 1, either. You start off with a blanket assumption and ignore that I'm only talking about this specific instance. I don't for one second think that any politicians act solely in a selfless fashion, and of course Democratic legislators are just as capable of being self serving. I am in no way "young" or naive, but if believing that makes you feel better than thinking someone is nuanced enough to see reality and also want it to be better, than so be it.

And you also bite back with false equivalency. Yes, there has been previous levels of shadiness by everyone. No, it isn't new. But like I've said and been saying, the part where it happens in broad daylight and is also greenlit/ignored by the electorate is definitely worse than it used to be. Naysayers act like they can't see the handwriting on the wall or are just so nihilistic as to literally want things to fall apart. The latter can't be reached, and the former don't understand enough to be reached.

I'm fine with admitting that Democrats play the game wrong on many occasions, and it costs them. But when the level of fuckery has reached this point, there isn't anything to end-around by trying to play more games. You talk about making Trump stronger, but he can't be stronger with his base than he already is. I don't see the point in tapdancing around the issues like he isn't going to lie and say he's right regardless of what happens. Put the truth out there, and then if we keep going this hole, at least we know we did what we could on that front.

But I agree on a few things, too. Now that we've pushed through (or seem to be about to push through) this process, it is time to focus harder on issues. Healthcare is a lynchpin issue in the minds of people, and very few candidates are pushing it at all.
Ah yes, the infamous 'false equivalency' every time a point is made. If you lived through the 2000s, you've seen shit happen in broad daylight. It's just that there was class involved, not this bull in a china shop shit. Bush was a smooth war criminal and anyone paying attention called bullshit on him and his actions.

Once again, you say 'put the truth' out there and fail to realize that perception will matter more than any supposed truth will. Fuck is this truth, justice, and the American way shit? It's more bubble world fantasy horseshit.

And you say "Now it's time to focus on harder issues"? Shit, a few of us been saying that shit for years. Now all you've done is give Trump a series of victory confirmation. Jesus fucking christ. This is how people train animals to gain confidence. Keep giving them wins. And make no fucking mistake about it, defeating the impeachment is just another fucking win for him.

And what's the next plan for these rocket scientists? To cry foul about the impeachment and witnesses? So when Biden wins the nomination and it comes up he was against witnesses 20 years ago, more fucking clown shit. As if not taking the L by itself isn't a fucked up look knowing you were going to get the fucking L going in.

We're basically back to where some of us said we should have been 4 years ago, but this time Trump has a number of victories to boast about. :smh:

I predicted this like a week ago. Thank god I was raised by old school hustlers. I’m a hustler so I know game when I see it.

It goes to show you how clueless the democrats and the mainstream media is. They don’t even know how to play chess. What Mitch McConnell and the republicans did was a nice chess move.

I seen it seen last week. Mitch was talking this bullshit about he does not have the votes for witnesses! It was all dog whistles to the republicans base. These Right Wing CACs put pressure on a lot of republicans to vote for acquittal.

If you ask me impeachment like I was tiredly saying was a waste of time and it backfired on the democrats. Politically the democrats earned nothing.

Time and Time again the democrats are being outsmarted by one of the most dumbest US presidents in history :)

I hope they learn there lesson and just focus on the election. Stop trying to go against trump. They just look stupid trying. The democrats need to know that they play checkers and you need to know chess and strategy and not be all into your feelings and emotion like a typical bitch. That does not use logic. They have trump derangement symptoms and that is killing there thought process and having basic common sense.
Democrats are doing what they were elected to do. Trump repeatably breaks the law and he was impeached for it.

It isn‘t the Democrats being outsmarted by Trump it was the non voters and Jill Stein voters in 2016. Protest vote, remember.

You all would be crying if Democrats did nothing to hold Trump accountable. But now their stupid for doing their job. You all were warned about what republicans were capable of if given majority of government. Sold their soul crooks, everyone last one of them. 2020 it’s too late. Even if their lose they aren’t giving up their power, as seen with senate republicans in this impeachment trial.

2016 people like Gene Cisco constantly made excuses for republicans and encouraged people to not vote Democrat. Rinse and repeat 2019-2020.

I hope you have learned a lesson from 2016.

And here we go with the "told you so" choir. Let me just reiterate something I said earlier.

1) There's nothing wrong with people hoping that parts of the GOP will grow a spine and do the right thing. We all know that it probably won't happen, but it's not a crime to hope that they might do the right thing.

2) For better or worse, this process was not a wasted effort. The House did exactly what it was supposed to do (despite GOP fuckery) and followed the process. The GOP Senate which was already exposed to be self serving assholes have been further exposed as self-serving assholes. In the short term, that might mean nothing, but just ignoring them and your duty to try the President wouldn't have made any sense, either.

3) And I can't stress this enough: multi-tasking is a thing that almost every human can do. It is possible to follow this process and also be focused on the upcoming election(s).

The long and short is that the BGOL "do nothing crew" keeps wanting to make this narrative about people being up in their feelings when they aren't. And maybe a few of you should check yourselves, because as soon as it's time for a round of unnecessary "I told you so's", y'all do everything but an actual shuck and jive trying get in your own circle jerk (NO HOMO).

Real talk, I'll take a dozen folks willing to at least follow events and talk about them as they occur versus the handful of wannabe geniuses whose only contribution is to "be right".
We knew they would protect him and not remove him. The point was to get all his dirt in the open.

Right... I guess my question for the naysayers is: WTF was the alternative??

No impeachment proceedings? No witnesses? No evidence? No effort to make these fucks accountable? Really my guys? It's one thing to acknowledge Republicans are corrupt and autocratic af at their core but it's another thing entirely to say that we should explode every norm/precedent preemptively on some "nothing matters" type shit bc there's "no point". Institutions and norms matter. The further away we get from them and the further out to sea we get the more likely it is that democratic ideals (however quaint) become so much plankton for corporate/oligarch whales to absorb us into some kind of plutocratic push towards some retarded feudal Mad Max ass society. Shit is bad rn and it's finna get a whole lot worse if folks don't wake up. :smh:

Well it looks like they are already fixing the primaries so Bernie Sanders can not win like they did in 2016. They are really trying to piss off progressives and make them stay home and give the election to trump. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.

DOnt know whats up with Biden but he cant go up against Trump with that stuttering and cant remember shit.

hate to say it AGAIN but nothing will get that demon out of office.this dude is untouchable.can break the law ,make threats, cuss on tv and social media etc.it was already writing.all this was just a waste of time and people money.

On the impeachment of President Donald Trump
My layman’s approach to the impeachment of President Trump is somewhat simplistic.
We American citizens have the right to choose our leaders by voting in elections. Exercising that right requires that our elections be fair, especially the one for president. Anyone who cheats in an election denies us that right.
American elections are for Americans only. When a foreign power interferes in an American election, it attacks our democracy.
When our president asked a foreign head of state to interfere in our next presidential election, he cheated and he invited such an attack.
Cheating is wrong, and this cheating was no small matter. This was cheating in how we choose who will hold the most powerful job on the planet. President Trump cheated. To help himself, he tried to deny me my right to vote in a fair election, and he tried to involve a foreign government in that cheating. That is inexcusable and unforgivable.
President Nixon cheated. By removing him for this, our self-correcting democracy partially repaired the damage he caused. President Clinton lied in court. I thought that was a high crime and supported removing him then. We failed, lowered the ethical bar, and weakened our democracy. Both comparisons are relevant today.
Like Nixon, President Trump cheated in a presidential election. Even worse, President Trump’s attempt asked a foreign government to interfere. To me this is also worse than what Clinton did, and I thought Clinton should have been removed. Our democracy needs to self-correct, as it did with Nixon and failed to do with Clinton.
I think President Trump’s cheating in the next presidential election, and his use of his office in an attempt to involve a foreign government in that cheating to help himself, are together an abuse of power and a high crime. I recommend the Senate find President Donald Trump guilty of abuse of power and remove him from office.
I find many of the arguments in and on the margins of the Senate impeachment trial to be distractions or secondary.
– I don’t care whether President Trump tied explicit conditions or threats to his request for a “favor” from the Ukrainian president. The ask was the bad act.
– Nor do I care that his cheating failed. An inept cheater who fails to achieve his objective is still a cheater.
– I don’t care much whether his action violated a criminal statute, as I think this is not necessary to constitute a high crime.
– I would err on the side of being over-inclusive on witnesses and evidence but don’t need more of either to draw my conclusion.
– Others who also cheated should be or should have been punished. The right answer is to raise the ethical bar, not lower it.
– The prosecution’s flaws, failures, and in some cases corrupt motives do not mitigate President Trump’s bad act or guilt. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
– Relative peace and prosperity, good poll numbers, anticipated citizen anger, or an upcoming election do not excuse a president from being held responsible for trying to deny me my right to vote in a fair election. We should hold all elected officials accountable for their worst actions, not just those who are unpopular, unsuccessful, or whose policies or political style we dislike.
It is a privilege to live in a society where we can speak our minds, vote, criticize our elected leaders, and hold them to account. I cherish these freedoms and rights, and our democracy that protects them. As permitted by the Constitution, the Senate should remove from power anyone who attacks that democracy. That includes our president, Donald Trump.

Do you remember when Bush was to be held accountable for all this fuckery and Pelosi herself said in 2008 :D "let's move on!!" They basically lied to the American people, pushed that shit through State of The Unions, cost thousands of lives, maimed countless others, fucked up all kinds of shit and wasted BILLIONS ON LIES, and it was :D "Let's move on!!!"

I wish I could have this 'golly gee, Leave it to Beaver' idealist vision of politics in this country like some people are having now. It's much like I wish I can believe in heaven and religion. It must be nice. And trust, I know you understand how corrupt these fucks are, but I think you're forgetting some of the bullshit we had to sit through in the past just because these cats didn't abuse twitter and knew how to be political.

To have Pelosi spearheading this shit after :D "Let's move on" is crazy.

So why when all of D.C. was basically complicit in lying to the American public and war crimes it gets a fucking pass but now it's all Hulk Hogan vitamins and the American way? Hell, we basically know Biden was also on some fuck shit with his son Hunter but he just wasn't on Twitter acting an ass about it.

Much like the real world, social media is exposing bullshit. I wonder what 2001-2003 would have been like with social media. Had Bush not knew how to stfu and be political, imagine how many lies he'd be caught in each week.

Elizabeth Warren is the reason why the GOP got the votes when she wrote a letter to the Chief Justice trying to smear him.

I wish I could have this 'golly gee, Leave it to Beaver' idealist vision of politics in this country like some people are having now.

I'll never get over the fact we have Bush voters on this shit. And they'll tell you you're on the wrong side of history if you disagree. Straight overcompensation.

This is short sighted and wrong.

That's your opinion....

Let these white folks have the bullshit, I want them to fuck shit up, even though President Obama did a great job in rebuilding.

In a few years, this will all come home & sit in white folks lap. I want him to continue to destroy.

They value the bullshit, The economy is already done, nobody is making any money in the middle class (white folks)

Taxes are kicking many people's ass now that we are on the back end. Other countries are looking at the white man crazy right now & have been since Trump took office.

Yes you forgot.
You have to be white.
And belong to the RepubliCUNT, I mean the Republikkkult party.

I like Biden but have you seen his last couple debates? He was horrible, and it seems he is having memory issues.

Well at this point, i dont think it comes down to who we like necessarily, i think it comes down to who has the best chance of winning..Biden IMO has the best chance to win...After all of these years, the DNC has to rely on two old white men to beat Donald Trump...that's sad. I thought Beto O'Rourke would have been good but he fizzled out. I blame the DNC for not producing better "Centrist" candidates after all of these years...the time to start grooming and vetting candidates was when President Obama was elected back in 2008..DNC got comfortable it looks like...while I like AOC, i dont think that she's realistic in winning in those Midwestern states...
