I think there are 2 scenarios here, Iran talked real big retaliated and accomplished nothing, maybe they thought about it and decided to save lives and chose not to feel the wrath of the US air force and played the pussy role and really don't want no smoke.

Or Iran is playing chicken making themselves look very weak on purpose waiting for shit to die down and then they pull a rabbit out the hat and attack Saudi oil fields hit Israel and other US interest because so far it looks likes they really don't have the ability to hit back as they should by unfortunately sending cruise missiles directly to USA soil.

The truth will come out soon if the orange Nazi in office lets this failed retaliation go unpunished or sends some more missiles to Iran if he doesn't its some BS going on!!!!!!

Both sides don't want a prolong war. Right now Iran is broke and there economy is struggling because of Sanctions.

Trump is trying to get re-elected and he does not want to scare off independents as just another typical republican war president.

Yeah War worked for Bush but that was because of 9/11 and the country was not so divided like it is now. Getting into another pointless war will hurt his chances at re-election.
