That was fast. Just last week, Nicki Minaj was retiring from music and now she has a brand new album in the works.

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj can't wait to release her “fierce, fun, and unapologetic” new album.

The rapper, 36, is expected to drop the follow-up to last year's Queen later this year.

And speaking in the October issue of Elle U.S. magazine, the "Super Bass" hitmaker confessed she's "excited" for fans to hear her new music.

“It’s probably the most excited I’ve been about an album release in a really long time," Nicki shared. "I’m happy that we’re not making my fans wait for another album like I’ve done in the past.”

Nicki famously made fans wait four years between her third album The Pinkprint and it's follow-up Queen and teased the new release will be reflective of her entire career to date.

“This one incorporates all the things people love about Nicki, but it also just has a way bigger sound, so it goes perfectly with the collection,” she explained.

The comments come after the "Megatron" hitmaker shared a tweet earlier this month informing fans she was shunning the spotlight, writing: "I’ve decided to retire & have my family."

However, the musician, who was rumored to have wed beau Kenneth Petty last month, later backtracked on the remark, admitting the tweet was "abrupt and insensitive," adding: “I’m still right here.

“Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be," Nicki continued. "I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything.”

Like her song goes, Nicki Minaj can now say she has Kenneth “Zoo” Petty “right by my side” forever.
The rapper is now married to Petty after less than a year of dating. She announced the news via a short Instagram video, with a simple caption of emojis and Monday’s date, presumably when they tied the knot. Wedding accessories, like mugs saying “Mrs.” and “Mr.,” and caps for the bride and groom are seen strewn across a table. Celebrities like Christina Aguilera and Winnie Harlow have already congratulated the couple in the comments section.

Reps for Minaj did not immediately respond to EW’s request for comment.

Minaj had been publicly calling Petty her husband prior to the wedding. Back in June, she revealed on her new Queen Radio show on Apple Beats 1 that she and Petty had gotten a marriage license.
“We did get our marriage license,” she said. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
The couple debuted their romance last December, and some fans were quick to point out that Petty had a checkered past. (He is a registered sex offender in the state of New York and served time in prison for manslaughter after being convicted in 2002). Minaj brushed off these concerns, telling commenters on Instagram, “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.” According to TMZ, Minaj has known Petty since they themselves were teenagers, and she is “confident he’s matured” since then.

After marriage, Minaj has hinted that she’ll center her life on family and “retire” from music, which her fans did not take well.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
In an interview with The Shade Room posted to Instagram on Sunday, Minaj elaborated on the retirement comment. “When I posted that retirement tweet, I knew that I still had music that I already had recorded that was still going to come out,” she said. “So the retirement was kind of talking about my album, meaning like, ‘Do I want to go back and record my fifth album?’”
Minaj’s 2018 album, Queen, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and she’s dropped the single “Megatron” and was featured on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hot Girl Summer” in August.

Where is “Queen Radio” when you need it? Today Nicki Minaj called out Meek Mill, initially for making fun of her husband, but later to accuse him of assault, on his own preferred platform of choice, Twitter. With the home-court advantage, Meek Mill immediately replied to Minaj with his own accusations, starting the first major subtweet fight of the decade. The fight started as a follow-up to their recent altercation in a store, which included Minaj’s new husband, Kenneth Petty. But the argument quickly dissolved into more serious accusations of assault and more. After Meek Mill got caught “liking” an Instagram post making fun of Petty on Wednesday, Minaj let loose on Instagram and Twitter.
“Nigga been tweeting bout my man for a year now,” she wrote on Twitter. “Talking bout he went to my page to see him but he was blocked. My nigga, move on.” Meanwhile, on Instagram, she posted several photos on her Story making fun of Meek Mill and calling him a clown.

Then, Minaj escalated the fight. “You beat your own sister and taped it,” she subtweeted Mill. “Spit on her & taped it. Kicked me in front your mother and sent her to the hospital. Sucking drake dick made u feel tough again. Move on.” Previously, Minaj has mentioned being in an abusive relationship, but did not reveal the abuser. Meek Mill then replied via subtweet, though he does not deny the accusations of assault. “The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women … talk about ya brother convicted of rape and you been knew and paid for his lawyer … ya little brother touched that lil girl too,” he wrote, referencing Minaj’s older brother, Jelani Maraj, who was recently sentenced to 25 years to life for predatory sexual assault against a child. Mill also seems to accuse Minaj’s younger brother, Micaiah Maraj, of committing sexual abuse.

Minaj has been accused of defending her older brother before and uses “alleged” to describe his crime in her reply to Mill. (He was found guilty in 2017.) “You won’t tell ppl the mother is on tape asking me for $20 million to make the charge go away tho,” she added.
After firing off more now-deleted tweets criticizing Minaj’s behavior, Meek called it quits on the Twitter fight. “Go to church leave me alone!” he wrote, adding in another since-deleted tweet: “My girl is with me pregnant watching me tweet about my ex is very clownish.” Minaj has not directly replied, but did let her followers know she’ll still be at Pollstar Live for her keynote conversation with entertainment executive Irving Azoff.
