People downplay the fact that there were Foundational Blacks who helped develop this country that were never slaves and were already here before the CAC arrived.
Mad Skillz ain’t playing around! He’s going hard at Lena Waithe.
That article on slavery in NY is interesting as well. This is the history that @Mrfreddygoodbud is obfuscating and running from with all of his Yankee pride.
Black Americans are always cast as villains deliberately. But anti ADOS swear white people in Hollywood can't tell a difference between a Brit and an ADOS.
One of the main issues with Queen & Slim is the erasure of Founational Black American women. They put an ADOS bulldagger as the executive "face" of the movie and its supposed to be centered around an ADOS woman's life, but the depiction of Black American women is that of TRASH. And any dignified ADOS roles are played by non ADOS black women. You see the same phenomenon on BGOL, Black American women outside of entertainers or celebrities are an after thought here. Since ADOS kicked off this year, the only black men on BGOL to defend or speak up for Black American women is us ADOS. I hope the few that lurk or work here are noticing that. To find a thread specifically honoring Foundational Black American women as beautiful on Black Girl Online is nearly impossible. There are threads and threads honoring West indian women and African as beautiful and desirable, but women right here in the States? Dudes on BGOL just not attracted to them like that and could care less about their representation or depiction.

Because NY is associated with industrialism so much people ignore the fact before it became "Gotham" it was the 2nd biggest slave port in the country for 200 years. My ancestor for example came into the US on a slave ship via New York City market houses in the late 1700s.
