Have you ever heard of the ”Radical Republicans?
The first attempt - Special Field Orders, #15 in 1865, backed by Republican General William Sherman. That was overturned by Democratic President Andrew Johnson.
Next, the Freedman Bureau’s act of 1866, setup by the Republican government, that was vetoed by the Democratic President.
Civil Rights Act of 1866 - passed by Republicans and vetoed by the Democratic President.
here is another - Dawes Act of 1887. Republican backed bill turned into law to provide reparations to Native Americans AKA the copper colored races indigenous to America AKA so-called black people. Usurped by $5 Indians and immigrants that paid $5 to get free benefits for freedman and Native American prisoners of war.
What have the democrats done? Other than make fake minority groups to usurp and steal any type of progress?
Good thing more people are reading up on history to see how things used to be, starting with the distinction that Obama was the first “African-American” President which IS NOT the same as the 1st so-called black President which he wasn’t, actually wasn’t even one of the first 5.
the indoctrinated have no clue who they are, and what this country is all about, but continue to talk like they know something when they should be listening to those actually putting in the time and effort to read and research.
You sound like the white folks on this other forum I frequent who try to convince people today's GOP are the same as the party of Lincoln. They try to tell folks the southern strategy was a hoax and that many racist white folks did not have a mass exodus from the party after civil rights passed. Usually this is combined with telling us why the GOP is better for black folks or why we owe Republicans.
Prior to the civil rights era, black folks were about half republican, half dem. the platforms and ideals they stood on changed, and people migrated accordingly. Now 90% of black folks vote dem.
