As the big dude shoved the puncher, the puncher's head collided with dude waking behind him. That may have disoriented the shooter but not enough to stop him from drawing his heat, raising it and attempting to bust one before realizing he needed to chamber a round. Those quick punches and knockout may have saved big yo from getting shot.
