Watching it now, its a alright movie but Eddie IS NOT pulling off the Dolemite character. He brought to much of his Eddie Murphy character to it.

you can’t watch this clip below and tell me Eddie was anything close to this.

In my estimation, it’s imp. that you separate the person RRM from the character Dolemite.

For the majority of the movie, Eddie was showcasing the biopic of RRM.

Dolemite is almost an alter ego that is showcased in movies and when in front of an audience.

To me, Eddie wasn’t remaking the movie Dolemite, he was portraying the life of RRM.

Carry on......

That's what I came away with it too.

yeah I tried to look at it that way too, but like I said I remember watching all those old Dolemite movies/standup and also the documentary that was put out a few years ago and to me Eddie didn’t pull off the Dolemite or RRM characters. people view things differently, I didn’t really like the movie but others loved it, it’s like that sometimes

I absolutely love this movie.... I almost want this as a miniseries... Craig brewer killed the direction of this.

I kind of wish I saw this on the big screen. I thought this would end up making fun of Rudy Ray Moore, but this was a heartwarming story about a black man refusing to give up on himself. Great movie...

Man I'm about to watch this bitch twice....

This shit get's added to my list of favorite movies.

I am surprised people are surprised Eddie killed this.

This was an EXCELLENT film

I was throughly entertained start to finish perfect casting...

The best collection of all natural beautiful black women on screen....ever.

Wesley was a revelation reminding fools just how good an actor he is.

Snoop and TI and Chris and Odenkirk rocked their cameos.

They only flaw to me is that this could have legitimately been 4 parts.

I would still love to see a full on documentary of his life.

Sidebar...

Queen Bee and her tig ole biddies would get this work too.
