Comedy: Richard Pryor Jr. Suggests He Was Molested by Paul Mooney: 'It Happened When I Was Young' (UPDATE)

Boy that's wild

They was on some other shit back then

I remember my aunt telling me back in the day Jackson state had "the best punks", and I was like wtf is that supposed to mean

Truth about JSU gumps:smh:. Your auntie knows what she is talking about. They would all hang around together deep in Dixon Hall. Would prank call rooms asking to suck dick. Would purposely hop in the shower if they see a dude they been scoping heading to the shower. Would sell ass to out of town Alphas, Ques, Nupes, and Sigmas who were also gumps. Their straight brothas would put a sheet on their gay brothers to conceal their identity and the straight brothers would guard the punks dorm room and escort their gay bruh back out. I went to JSU from 89-94 and them punks were next level then.

Four out of 10 gay or bisexual men in Jackson have HIV, according to a recent study released by Emory University.

The rate is the highest in the nation.

Three out of every 10 gay or bisexual men in several cities in the U.S. South have been diagnosed with the AIDS virus, three times the national rate, according to a study about how common HIV infections are in metro areas.

The study echoes other research that reported higher rates of HIV diagnoses in the South, in urban areas, and in gay or bisexual men, but it is the first to look at how common HIV diagnoses are in these men by city.

“For the first time, we can see not only the numbers, but the proportions,” said Dr. Jonathan Mermin of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report found 21 of the 25 metro areas with the highest levels of HIV diagnosis in gay or bisexual men were in the South. HIV was diagnosed in about three in 10 gay or bisexual men in El Paso, Texas; Augusta, Georgia; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dr. Leandro Mena with the University of Mississippi Medical Center said “half of the people who are HIV infected are not receiving care for HIV.”

Citing lack of support, stigma and homophobia, Mena said many do not seek treatment because they’re afraid of people finding out they have HIV.

My parents retired and live in Madison Co. right now. My pops is from Meridian so I am familiar with the area:cool:. However back to them stats about Jackson men, that is some disturbing shit for a metro area of only a half million. I believe it has a lot to do with the repressive evangelical laws that probably make health care availability a problem which is in the Sip which ranks near the bottom in health care. Then it has to due with funding cut to education about risky behavior. This is not just a Sip problem, this is a national problem. However the percentages for a town the size of Jackson is still disturbing.

I'm not understanding where Jackson State comes into play here.
my aunt is from the same era as mooney and pryor, and in telling me how sexuality was viewed differently in said era (read: everybody was fucking everybody), she said that JSU "had the best punks".

This statement confused me right off, but i then understood that "best punks", a term reflective of the possibility that there could even be such a category societally, was indicative of the normalization of those sexual attitudes of that time.

Shit was true. My father worked at J-State in the 80's and in the summers I used to go to work with him. Fags used to be in the bathroom stalls in the building my Dad worked in.

And the Sigmas :smh:

Some of the teachers too. One teacher gave my dad a porno with some gay shit on it, my Dad was pissed off. And I already told you about that Science teacher with the gay choir.

See, that's partly why I never pledged. Shit always seemed suspect to me.

J-State was fucked up below the surface. My Dad told me about so many rape cases he had to deal with. Women were constantly getting raped in the parking lots late at night on campus and in the dorms. Even had dude that was sodomized with a broomstick.

If you was aware on the yard you knew what to do and the rule of thumb was if their were known punks, do not associate with punks. However beneath the surface lots of foul shit went down concerning the campus not to mention the all the STD's because of those dumb broads who thought fucking punks was the in thing to do on top of the risky regular sex(raw is not always a good thing especially on a college campus).

Man when I was sixteen my half sister uncle offered me some weed at his crib, I was like hells no, dude looks fruity. The point is even though I was below legal age of consent, I wasn't going to let some fag trick me out of my ass!

There’s a difference between being tricked into doing something you don’t want to do and being coerced into doing something you want to do but shouldn’t.

You mean there is a difference between being forced and tricked/coerced because coerced and tricked both occurs because you let them. And as long as he was over 13 and he agreed to do some gay shit, you are gay in my book, but if he was physically raped then it's a different story.
Another thing I've met Richard Pryor son, and yeah he's a fag.

That was my point-- He just seems gay. (And his father was bi.) So a hetero guy saying he wouldn't be tricked in the same circumstance is not analogous because a gay teen wouldn't need to be tricked, it would be more about coercion.
