Did the NBA lower its standards for HOF admittance? I doubt that HOF has even given Howard serious consideration and forget first ballot. His name may have come up but that's all. Next you'll be telling me Trump has never lied while president.
What did Howard accomplish? Where's his rings? MVPs? Leading scorer? Rebounds? Something? The 2 or 3 years he maybe averaged 20pts. Taken his team deep in playoffs.
He might lead in the number of cities and fans he's disappointed. IMO he's just not HOF material. Biggest NBA failure since Kenny Walker was drafted by the Knicks.

Everybody gets in the basketball hall of fame (except Chris Webber). Mutombo and Vlade Divac are in. Dwight even though the last few years have been rough clearly has had a better career than those two. Carmelo will get in and his career and accomplishments haven't been as good as Dwight's.
Mitch Richmond and Reggie Miller are HOFers. Dwight's gay ass is a lock.
If that's the case then the NBA HOF is about as bogus as it gets. I know there's players that are really valuable to their teams like Mutombo and Divac but I don't see Howard even falling into that category.

Dude has no shot outside of the paint...no consistent mid-range definitely nothing on the perimeter.... . Lets not get into free throws... For all the subs / smoke he had for Shaq you would think he would make sure he could hit a free throw. Shaq averaged just above 52%, Dwight is at 56% and falling.
Like has been stated he came into the league with all the physical gifts and potential.... He was progressing and playing well at first, but the attitude, injuries, the duality of trying to se the world a good guy image and then to be exposed for all the ass chasing (and multiple kids) .... Dude there is a truth somewhere in there for him to live.... But I truly doubt this is it

Well in my opinion he played basketball in two different modern eras -the pre-Steph Curry era in the post Steph Curry era.
In the pre-era, Centers were expected to be two-way threats, on offense and defense. If a team had a dominant center, the offensive strategy typically worked around post play and getting the ball into him.
In the post Curry, Centers don’t play a major role except to stand and wait for a lob or junk missed rotation, but more often they’re setting high screens to open up guards and forwards on picks so they can let it fly - which inexorably leads to a long rebound if missed, so the center doesn’t even get to play a rebounding role.
Think about the number of NBA plays lately where you scratch your head because the center is standing all way up at an elbow, or the foul line, or the key, or even behind the three-point line.
So, in the modern post curry NBA, a limited skill set player like Howard doesn’t much have a place and unless he develops a mid range jumper at a minimum
His career numbers are ridiculous
