I stopped watching football a few years back so I'm not familiar with Carter as a commentator. I see his morning show First Things First premiered on September 5, 2017 but I didn't realize he did non-football work at all until I really ramped up my basketball watching this year.
I can definitely see why Carter attracts contempt here. But I don't think it's fair to say he shit on his mom. Marshall Mathers shit on his mom. Cris Carter said he loves his mom and credits her with doing the best that he could but he sees her more as an example of what not to do than a role model to emulate as far as parenting.
