Venus might as well hang it up.
There’s no lack of skill but her age and disease keep her from being competitive against younger high caliber talent.
Yup. Her time has passed and the girls who grew up idolizing her and Serena are catching up to the Masters. In come the next set of Torchbearers.Venus might as well hang it up.

That's good shit right there. Take the reins Coco!
I wish Venus had embraced her at the end of the match rather than crying or in addition to showing that emotion.Such an epic match, and the fact that she is literally ushering in a youth that idolizes her and is as good as Venus was when she was 15 is beautiful.

I know, and you could feel it. It would have been so impactful for her to embrace the next generation of Black tennis champions IN ADDITION to realizing that her time was up but I realize how easy it is for an onlooker like myself to speak in hindsight like that.Crying is so natural especially when you walk away realizing it’s likely your last time at a place that you once dominated and will forever be legendary at; I can’t blame her for being in her own space and emotions.
I took it more that Venus stepped away from the spotlight to allow Coco the moment to herself to shine. Perhaps mindful of that controversial debacle after Naomi Osaka finally beat Serena.I wish Venus had embraced her at the end of the match rather than crying or in addition to showing that emotion.
Maybe she's playing because she loves the game - much like how singers sing and actors act and dancers dance. The tour is big enough for everybody to play. Why should she stop just because she has "enough" money? Besides, Venus is currently the #7 ranked American woman on the WTA tour and in the Top 50 worldwide. This loss puts her at 14 wins and 7 losses for 2019, which is still VERY respectable and competitive.Venus is 39! The fuck she still playing for? She done made a shitload of money. Retire and enjoy life. She'll never be a champion again.
Disease? I was wondering if she had had a baby recently, those nipples were poking but that midsection wasn’t looking to good during the match. Yeah it’s time for her to hang it up
