NBA 2018-2019 playoffs thread...finals is set..”Warriors vs Raptors 2-4” Raptors win the title!!!

Sources: Rockets making CP3, others available

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey has made his entire roster and future draft picks available in trade talks, a dramatic initiative with hopes of reshaping the team into a championship contender, league sources told ESPN.

The possibility of trading All-NBA guard James Harden is believed to be extremely limited, but the rest of the roster -- including even Chris Paul and Clint Capela -- could be more realistic trade targets, sources said.

Paul's remaining contract (three years, $124 million) and advancing age (34) make deal possibilities somewhat prohibitive.

The Harden-Paul dynamic wasn't without its challenges this year for the Rockets, league sources said.

The Rockets have been more aggressive in offering up Capela in recent days, sources said. Houston has lost in the conference finals and conference semifinals to Golden State in consecutive years.

Houston has made changes on its coaching staff, and extension talks with coach Mike D'Antoni appear to be stalled. He has one year left on his contract.

Just to be funny they should tried him back to the pelicans for Ad

It doesn't matter how happy they really were nor how much they appreciate the moment, everyone outside of Cali's sphere of influence was like
It was so boring even the announcers were bored. Lol. All that red on that map isn't there by accident.

Lebron stays the Cavs reload they make it to the finals for the 5th year in a row whoever you wanted to beat the warriors beats them and now faces the Cavs
Do you feel the same way?
Bored?
Everyone outside of Ohio would be bored too?

Nobodys taking those shitty contracts. They just signed em last summer! I could see maybe someone taking a chance to go at Capella. But CP? Lets keep it a buck, CP robbed that Landry's dude blind.

Capela has a trade friendly contract. CP3 contract is not tradable unless he's packaged with Gordon, Capela or Tucker but I doubt the Rockets will get something equal in return.

They're stuck with CP3, they need to re-sign Rivers and let him play the bulk of Paul's minutes during the regular seasin. Rockets need to treat CP3 like the Spurs did Duncan the last few championships runs where they put him on a pitch count until the playoffs.

I’m rooting for Kawhi
But if this team didn’t have Durant I would be rooting for them as well. I think think the 73-9 warriors were way more likable then the Durant warriors. I’mma still root for the splash brush

I'm not rooting for anyone in this Finals. This shit just doesn't intrigue me(just like last year's Finals) but 100% agree on rooting for the Warriors before KD.

(A healthy) LeBron staying in Cleveland wouldn't make the finals boring since he lost most of them. It would be interesting to see if he could win with that group, even if they were playing against Hou/Den/Portland.

It would make the eastern playoffs boring since he would be sweeping teams and going back for his 9th straight finals. People outside of Ohio would suddenly become Sixers/Raptors/Bucks fans just to see something different happen in the east.

So yes and no. It would be boring in the east but interesting in the finals.

If there was a similar map for 2004, I think those Raptors states would be Pistons states.

Banana boat crew is coming to save your baby daddy. CP3, Marshmallow Anthony and Bron together again at last.

A trade straight up With lakers and Houston that works and has no financial impact is Bron for Harden...

Houston can effectively gut the team off Capella and package Gordon and Tucker...

Houston is pretty much fast approaching Larry Holmes flat top status

Why dont you post about your Warriors anymore? Are you giving up on them?Who's gonna save Steph when KD leaves?

Trade wouldnt work because LeBron would simply retire if he's traded.

The Finals are boring when you know there’s no way the other team can win. We all knew the Cavs weren’t beating the Warriors.

The way Kawhi played, I’m not even sure if the Cavs would’ve beat Kawhi. You notice I said “Kawhi” right? :roflmao: Because Lebron and the Cavs would run all over the Raptors, Kawhi would’ve had something to say about that though.

I was curious where they met... San Francisco.

Now I'm wondering why Popovich was there, like if Kerr flew him out specifically for that.

"They had to be talking about Kawhi, right? Not necessarily, according to Kerr."

Steve Kerr addresses Gregg Popovich dinner, didn't know photo was taken
By Monte Poole May 27, 2019 5:13 PM

OAKLAND – A photo featuring Warriors coach Steve Kerr and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich having dinner at a San Francisco restaurant Friday night was shared on Twitter, sending conclusions flying.

With the Warriors possibly facing Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals and Popovich coaching Leonard for seven seasons in San Antonio, they had to be talking about Kawhi, right?

Not necessarily, according to Kerr, who on Monday told NBC Sports Bay Area that he was unaware that someone had snapped a photo and shared it on social media.

“That made it out on Twitter?” Kerr wondered after practice. “Was it with a third guy in between us? Was my wife in it? Did somebody take a photo from the street or something?”

The photo, with only Kerr and Popovich visible, was taken by someone having dinner in the same restaurant.

It also was taken one day before Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between Toronto and Milwaukee – or about 24 hours before the Warriors knew which team they would face.

So, maybe Kerr was prying in search of secrets on both Leonard and Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer, a former Spurs assistant coach under Popovich.

Well, no. The conversation over the course of about two hours and several bottles of wine, was, according to Kerr, much less about basketball than about two friends of nearly 20 years catching up and talking about families and life.

Popovich, who coached Kerr for four seasons late in his playing career, became a widower last May, when Erin, his wife of 42 years, died from cancer.

If there is one thing Kerr learned, or re-learned, it is that privacy no longer is allowed.

:rolleyes2:

The NBA spoke to the Toronto Raptors during the Eastern Conference finals about Drake's activity and presence on the sideline, a league spokesman told ESPN.

Last year, the NBA warned the rapper, who also is a global ambassador for the Raptors, after a confrontation with then-Cleveland Cavaliers center Kendrick Perkins during a playoff series between the Raptors and the Cavs.

Drake drew attention this year for leaving his courtside seat in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Milwaukee Bucks to give Toronto coach Nick Nurse a shoulder massage.

Ujiri: Kawhi is 'best two-way player in the NBA'
The next day, Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer said there was no place for fans to be on the court.

"I don't know how much he's on the court. It sounds like you guys are saying it's more than I realize," Budenholzer said. "There's certainly no place for fans and, you know, whatever it is exactly that Drake is for the Toronto Raptors. You know, to be on the court, there's boundaries and lines for a reason, and like I said, the league is usually pretty good at being on top of stuff like that."

NBA commissioner Adam Silver issued a memo earlier this year reminding the league's franchises to state and enforce their fan-conduct policies.

The Golden State Warriors have downplayed Drake's presence ahead of their NBA Finals series against Toronto.

"I kind of think it's fun and the NBA kind of embraces the pop culture dynamic of the league and the stars and the celebrities who are out there," Warriors coach Steve Kerr said Monday. "And we got E-40 ready for them too, so we're in good shape."

Warriors guard Stephen Curry offered his take on Drake.

"It's been entertaining," he said Monday. "I know it's a tricky situation with him being right there on the court, but at the end of the day, he's having fun, having -- you can't hate on nobody having fun. Well, I guess in this life everybody hates on people having fun. So it's par for the course on that one."

On Wednesday, Raptors wing Norman Powell also embraced his team's ambassador.

"I like having Drake on the sideline," he said. "He's a great supporter, and it's funny how his passion for the team's really affecting the opponents, having opposing coaches come out ... you can see it's bothering them."

I thought the Raptors was the most ready team outside of the Rockets that could take on the Warriors.

As well as the Bucks played this year, their inexperienced would have got them beat.

Kawhi, Green, Ibaka, and Gasol (I think) all have playoff experience against the Warriors.

No analytics points to the Raptors beating the Warriors in 7, however, the Raptors got their first two games at home, which is a huge confidence booster for the more inexperienced players on the team.

I don't think they have two win both home games because in the Finals you have to win on the road at some point, but they do have to win either game 1 or 2.

I think the Raptors is better defensively than the Rockets and Trailblazers and I think their shot selection is much better as well.

Ultimately, the Raptors is the underdog. I wouldn't put my money on them to beat the Warriors 4 times. But if they win the first two games or split the first two games, then I can entertain the possibility of this being an interesting series.
GS should have a real simple game plan; Force Leonard to take difficult shots; stay with everyone else; Raps not that hard to defend....

What would y’all think if basketball started Christmas Day snd was played through the summer taking us right into football? (I know I know fuck the nfl)

In about two weeks unless you’re into baseball sports is dead
