NBA 2018-2019 playoffs thread...finals is set..”Warriors vs Raptors 2-4” Raptors win the title!!!

In basketball, there can be several types of fouls. That play should’ve been a “Common” foul. Not a “Clear Path” foul.

Just like it shouldn’t have been a flagrant. Dame was ahead of Curry. It appeared Curry lunged forward as Dame was fouling him.

That's not what happened. Steph FLEW past him like he had all series going to the rim
I dont care either way. Either we calling it clear path or we not that's simple because we all know every instance like that they call it a clear path foul
So if you say let's not call ANY of those clear path then i say im fine with that.
If you say no that one but then the next ones that they're going to call like that a clear path are ok.. im not ok with that

He was thinking from the perspective of the Warriors running everything through KD and then not being able to play the way they played before KD got there.

He was VERY wrong!

Nah he was thinking from the perspective of he hates the warriors he's always hated them from the beginning. It don't bother me I just posted it because he was stupid enough to say it
The reason we don't do this shit when KD is on the court is Kerr
let Kevin be a small forward and just score and we have those games we put up 150 points. so it is possible.

Talk that shit bills
Just tonight
20 pages back these niggas told me curry is trash when he was getting double teamed but also double teamed with the offense foolishly not running through him
and then the offense ran through him with that same double team and he TORCHED THEM NIGGAS
so much so the next coach said we can't double team him cause he'll torch us then he torched their entire STATE
Nigga sent all 3 of his little brother's home
Seth, Dame and C.J.

Yep

My bad. I still make the mistake of assuming common sense around here.. Bad call was referring to only the "clear path" aspect. Not the foul.

My bad and my sincerest apologies. I made the mistake and assumed that you’d get the joke but it flew over your head.

I also meant was a bad call meaning it wasn’t a “Clear Path” foul.

Dame attempted to wrap Steph up as he was passing him and Curry stepped passed him leading the refs to call a clear path foul.

I stated Dame should’ve wrapped him up and tackled him so that Steph wouldn’t get passed him. I’m sorry that you didn’t get my joke.

But it wasn’t Steph that killed us. Your role players played big. Iggy hit five threes and Looney dominated the boards and got double figures. steph and klay cooked, but your bench sent us home and I gave you props :hmm::lol:

My bad. I missed the sarcasm.. I had just finished discussing the matter with a GSW fan (bills) so that threw me off.

The intent of the clear path fouls was to not reward defenders who are beat and take a cheap foul to have the offensive player stopped and end up taking the ball out of bounds or shooting free throws when they obviously had an easy layup or dunk.

Dame was already back so his that rule didn’t apply to him.

Steph got all of them niggas open shots because when the offense runs through him everyone goes to him that's all I'm saying.
I'm not slighting you or the rockets.
but the narrative and memes have aged horribly over a week and a half lol

Agreed

We can argue whether or not that was the case because he clearly wanted to stop the fast break which is why he fouled him. So in essence you do want him to be able to take a cheap foul on a 1 on 1 fast break back pedaling and be rewarded for not playing defense in that situation see what i mean?
he wasn't BACK they were close and then he past him if he was back far enough he would have fouled him way before he got past him
its semantics i just want a consistent call im never mad at the calls if they're consistent either way.

Miami Heat and golden state Warriors are my teams....If they were to play each other I will root for Miami

In clear path fouls, the offensive player would have to be clearly in front and the defender fouling him from behind. That was the intent of the rule.

But you’re right, Dame was trying to stop the play. That happens all the time. Dame didn’t chase him down to stop the play which is why the rule’s in place.

But I get what you’re saying.

I'm saying if its to not reward the player for taking a cheap foul when there are no defenders behind him then that's a clear path foul.
Either you have to defend a 1 on 1 fast break or you can just get rewarded for not trying
If it was Steph in the same situation I'd have no problem with the call cause that's how it's called.
I do also see the trailing and then grabbing to stop the fast break as being a more definitive clear path foul
but more times than not on those they don't even call it if they grab them quick enough see what i mean?
Just be consistent. either way.
