Yeah every play has had questionable moments but the commentators were going overboard with it. They were talking like Steph has never shown up in the playoffs, they were pushing this notion that Dame and CJ stood a chance against the Warriors without KD because Steph disappears in moments like this. Then I even heard one saying this morning that these last 2 games mean nothing how Steph has never shown him anything when the game really means something.

So in straight points excluding free throws, Steph had 22 points in the second half.
He’s a 2-time league MVP, a 3 time world champion. But has never been the MVP of the Finals...

You can't say "You always need KD" when you nearly always win without him. At a historic ~ 73 win per season pace.
Situationally, they are sometimes better with KD than without-- i.e. those rare occasions when the Splash Brothers can't throw it in the ocean and easy scores are needed. But Steph does not fulfill his potential constantly deferring to KD. And sometimes Steph is better than KD. So it seems obvious that sometimes the Warriors are better without KD.
After the NBA finals, we may learn that the Warriors needed KD to beat Milwaukee. We may learn that they did not. They certainly aren't guaranteed of winning a championship with this roster and KD sidelined-- I can't speak to that match-up specifically but it's abundantly clear that the Warriors are a championship-level team without KD. (And so much more fun to watch!)
Rondo, Ball and Lebron injured for significant parts of the season. Not to mention threats of everyone getting traded made the environment toxic.
