NBA 2018-2019 playoffs thread...finals is set..”Warriors vs Raptors 2-4” Raptors win the title!!!

Game 1 turned out to be the most important game of last years Finals. That fuck up by JR Smith at the end ruined any chance the Cavs had at making it a respectable series. The way Lebron played in a Game 1, if they had won it may have made the series worth watching
Not following your logic. You can’t get swept and say one game was the difference from the series being respectable. The Cavs has four chances to make the game respectable

Cavs never had a chance, but your post reminds me of...

Orlando Magic 1995 finals.

Anderson hits just one free throw... And who knows what happens next.

Ok I mean his skill set. Iggy skill set is that if a starter level. Whether or not he can play 40 minutes a night I don’t know but I wouldn’t put it past him as the 5th option on the team:

Skill set yes we agree on that
35-36 year olds can't play a full season starter minutes and still hold up in the playoffs and be fresh
This the perfect situation for him he kinda shows up a little bit
10 minutes here 15 there then he can do his thing

And next series no matter what whether nugget or trailblazer he won't be starting anymore he'll go back to 6th man minutes bogut will get time now hopefully cousins and Jones too.

I like Steph, and he did change the game, however; my issue is this: he rarely guards the guy that guards him. He's a defensive liability.
Curry is not an elite on ball defender but he is a great team defender.

Curry will always give max effort on the defensive in.

You remove Curry off the best offensive player or the best point guard to allow him to rest and to place a better and taller on ball defender on him

That was a great game and it was game 1 to set the whole tone for the series. the Cavs weren’t really given a chance, Lebron played great, had like 50 points, game on the line in the 4th qtr JRSmith gets a key offensive rebound. If he takes it back up and puts it in the Cavs win more than likely and their confidence is sky high and they go into the next games confident they can win but Smith did something that no one could believe happened. The Cavs were still in shock and unable to get it together it OT amd when they lost that feeling of we had the game won but lost was what did them in

What do you chalk it up to? GS bench certainly outperformed my expectations -- I'm not sure that aspect of it wasn't a fluke.
I think that GS bench is underrated. I also think that coaching plays apart of it. But, I think the main reason is steph along with klay. Houston cant guard either one on one. So they tried to stop them, more specifically steph, to give up the ball by trapping and doubling. That opened everything up for everyone else; specifically the bench. If u look at a lot of those plays, those bench players got a lot of easy looks. They got of easy plays to execute and a lot of space to execute them. Why? Because of steph. And they made those plays; give them credit for sure. But its because they play with a superstar. Now ask yourself why Houston role players couldn't do the same thing. When that is answered that's when mofos will truly understand the impact of steph. So those numbers that that dude was posting are misleading.......

Question..replace Kyrie with Lowry or Cp3 or Russ. Do you think they still win chip?
That's a good one

I think he could have won with CP3

Lowry? I don't remember seeing a player play so dramatically different in the playoffs than the regular season in my life. In other words, HELL NO!!

RUSS is just too inefficient at times. I think Bron could get him to buy in.

Great question

Let’s stop with the narrative that Steph’s doesn’t play defense and is a liability and can’t guard anyone. Steph plays solid defense but gets slap happy and picks up bullshit fouls. They also have to conserve his energy for offense.

Players aren’t breaking his ankles and running right passed him. With that said, no player can’t stop any elite level scorer in the game.

My guy J Kidd gon be on staff. Town bidness!!!!

It's not rocket science
Instead of having his point guard off the ball for majority of the series
He had him on the ball and the entire team produced

Nobody causes defenses to stretch and be out of position like Steph other than LeBron that's it that's the list

The warriors literally ran the same pick and roll against the rockets down the stretch and scored 8 times simply because the plan is always to trap and try to let anyone but him beat you

Draymond missed a layup
Looney missed a lob
Same play 80% success rate against an elite defensive team down the stretch

When Durant comes back keep the ball in Curry's hands run action off ball with your off guards and forwards which means Durant gets a screen or is screening and slips
And Klay is always left open on drives by KD or Draymond

It's simple as shit and when they do that the offense scores historic points

Kerr just doesn't until he feels like it

Also he played 11 ppl last night
He could have done this the entire series but didn't
And yes he could have done it the entire series judging by how everyone played and still didn't lean on any of them for heavy minutes

It wasn’t even about the bench, the 4th quarter both teams had a chance to win but STEPH and KLAY happened. When they get in a rhythm like they ddI last night and have did plenty times before no team is going to beat them

That's overly simple. It is crazy that the game was tied at halftime when Curry had zero points and three fouls.

He's solid
But it's hilarious ppl will always lean on that shit like the other stars they use to prop up ever guard him
They don't

And when they do he roasts them so they must be a liability too

I respect lebrons greatness but some of y’all are overvaluing his worth right now; dude is aging quickly and that last season in LA sped up the process

Kd for bron straight up is not even a consideration if your golden state

I’m glad that someone else sees it!

The only “Liability” aspect of his defense is he plays too hard and will end up picking up fouls. Teams know this so they’ll attack or try and lost him up. His man isn’t shaking him and scoring like that.

But people love running with that narrative. Russ was getting his ass stopped by Lillard so bad that Russ had to go guard other players. But no one wants to talk about that.

By the way, Much Respect to Klay and his defense, Very Impressive!

Exactly

That's a thing you see your russ vs dame example is perfect

They guarded each other russ got owned by him then stopped guarding him it was a personal challenge

Now Steph plays defense solid he reaches too much and doesn't get the benefit of a clean reach hess no stopper and also none of the names compared come close to stopping him

Not even remotely close
