Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

I'm glad this episode confirmed that Jon Snow is fireproof. Perhaps that's why he said fuck it and tried to square off against the dragon. Is he Ice Dragon proof?

Such a great episode, and yeah it was too fucking dark in parts. Watched it on HBO Now. Annoying with how dark it was.

How did it confirm Jon is fireproof?

Had his neck all fucked up lol

Mehhh, anyone who is complaining about this episode just can’t be pleased.

2 weeks of character development: Ughhh they talk to much, where is the fighting

1 of the greatest battles ever displayed: Ughhh they killed the Night King too easily

Anyone who is in the know, knows we just witnessed one of the greatest fears done on TV

What did Jon think he was going to accomplish by standing up to the Ice Dragon?

This kind of foolish bravery is par-for-the-course with Jon. Charging after Ramsay only to face a whole cavalry, charging after the Night King only to face an army of undead, and then squaring up to a dragon!

Was watching on a 65" Samsung Qled TV but yea, maybe it does suck...

I agree with y'all. My picture was looking crazy. I had to adjust the screen several times. I thought it was just me

HBO's source feed of GoT has always been shaky...wasnt too dark but the source was just shitty...some compression artifacts etc...I have learned to expect that in GoT dark scenes...was appropriately dark to convey the madness of the battle

Had to turn my OLED brightness way up.

I have a 4K and had the same problems. Was switching from "Vivid" to "Cinema" to "HDR" depending on the scene. I know people will be talking about this tomorrow.

naw... @Amajorfucup said we just got cheap TVs..

I started to think they did that to make it feel like you were in the battle.

When did they start planning to hold at Winterfell? When did they gather all the lords of the houses to unite and battle the dead?

That was a long time ago. But they waited until the day before to decide to dig a trench. Seems like bad planning to me.

You point 0ut something interesting though. All them CAC’s there and it wasn’t until the army of color showed up that the trench was built. Where have we seen that unfold before...
Making a ‘plan’ to go to Winterfell... doesn’t mean there are people there to dig multiple trenches on the day you DECIDE to go there.

You ignored season 8, episode 1.... when all the ‘manpower’ who would actually be digging those extra trenches you wanted was marching through the gates of Winterfell.

The people who were already at Winterfell didn’t even really know about the Army of the Dead. And all the Military Minds & Battle Strategists came with Dany. Like Tyrion, Jon, Davos, Jamie, Etc.

You think Sansa was gonna tell everyone to dig several trenches before the others showed up???

Naa, Arya is one of the few female characters that weren't annoying. Had it been Sansa, or Dyneris then I would've rolled my eyes.

Yeah. When you consider she's been training since day 1 and the way she was trained, Ayra is the most deadly human alive right now. It should have been her.... that part of it was perfect. I thought she was going to be the one to kill Cersei if Jamie didn't do it.

Touché my nigga. Touché. Guess I just got my timeline mixed up.

Arya’s body count is higher than a mothefucker now.

Because Jon was surrounded by White Walkers, Dany and Dragon came in, burned all the White Walkers around Jon and he wasn't harmed.

He wasn’t engulfed in flames though. If he was his clothes would have been burnt. They weren’t. I don’t think this proves he cannot be burned. He burned his hand holding a lamp in season 1 as well.

Come on son. Yall gotta stop being sensitive. In "Clash of the Titans", they released the Kraken and he literally was dead a minute later. It cheapened it. I was already assuming that the Dragon Fire wasn't going to kill him. That would have been too "easy". When you build up an antagonist in the way the Night King was built up, you don't want him to never break a sweat the entire time and then die from an out of nowhere jab in the stomach where there is never any type of real fight. The Night King and his generals never even engaged in combat at all. It's much more compelling when a powerful antagonist is challenged in a more threatening fashion...he exhibits his power and then he's overwhelmed in some way and then dies. Arya could have still been the one to kill him and she could have still killed him in the same way in that scene, but he literally cruises through the scene while he's on land and never even engages in battle. He was up 20 with 10 seconds left and lost by a 21-point shot. Even Arya being able to sneak up on him isn't a stretch because of her training. It's just a bit of a letdown to see him the generals just stroll in at the end... walk in like Puffy and Nas in Hate me Now and die like that. Even if he and the generals were more engaged in fighting other people in more threatening ways before getting there would have been enough.
The Night King and his henchmen didn’t need to engage in combat because the forces at Winterfell could barely survive the HORDE of dead wights. They would have to get though all those dead soldiers first. Before going hand-to-Hand with any Generals. Or the Commander himself.

Plus, the Night King survived an aerial battle against 2 dragons at the same time.... then survived dragons flames. This dude was using Heavy Artillery. He’s fighting with Flying Tanks. And taking Tank Shells to the chest.... but you seem to think he was ‘easy to kill’.

C’mon man.

Fam.....I am fucking speechless mane.....this is the most epic shit I've ever seen.....soooo much to break down.... @stretchwallz we gon need you on this one bro, take yo time.

Nigga Jon wanted that real nigga one on one shit after jumping on his ass at 10000 feet with the NK and that fuck nigga smiled and raised a got damn army in between them.

Arya....my baby made me so proud, when she took out the Freys I hit her with the Baby Powder "I knew you was the one the Lord has chosen!" And then....when the red woman got her focused....that bitch dissapeared and came out the fucking shadows on a that fuck nigga like a savage! Got him feeling all powerful while dropping the valaryn steel shank to his blind side and in one fluid motion stabbed his ass to the heart! LETS FUCKING GO!!!

I'm so amped still!

So one... John's died?

Or is that the one that flew off with all the white walkers....

Drogon was the one that flew off to shake off the walkers. Then later returned to comfort Danny as she was mourning. Rhargel was hurt in the battle, but like Jon (Aegon), he's tough and was giving undead Viserion the business. Both dragons survived.

Rhaegal got dropped also. Drogon is the last dragon standing now.

So, anyone think Tyrion has a chance with Sansa now?

So many gifs can be made from this episode. It’s crazy.

Rhaegel was knocked down but not out

Dragon glass made him and dragon glass unmade him.

Edit, my bad, that was Valyrian steel

Yep, Dragon glass made him and Valyrian steel (forged by dragon fire) ended him

Yeah. I said I was being extra picky about it.... it's still by far the best episode of anything I've ever seen.

It's not that Arya saved that day that did it... i figured she was going to do that at some point because she's been training for it. It's that he died without ever really being challenged and died in a "cheap" way to me.

I disagree. It was perfect. This guy is raising the dead and is fireproof. I don't need to see him be the sub-zero second coming of Bruce Lee with swords.

Yup.

When he grabbed that lamp to throw on that Whyte that was in Jeor Mormont's chamber.

You're explaining the obvious and it's supporting my point. The Night King and his generals never had to engage in "The Great Battle". We all know why they didn't. We all watched the obvious. What I'm saying is that by devising a way to have them engage both allows their power to be displayed in a more compelling way + gives a bigger payoff when the force is matched. It elevates both the protagonist and the antogonist. They walk through and then eliminate the most powerful antagonists without a real physical or psychological battle. He's taken out by a quick dagger from a surprise attack in the most improbable of circumstances without ever once engaging in face to face battle. All I'm saying is that this could have, for me, taken a 9.999999999 to a 10... that's it...

Jon Snow just got his driver's permit last week man. He's the fucking Night King on a fucking Ice Dragon in the fucking heavy ass cover against someone (1/2 the opponents) who just stopped on a dragon for the first time a minute ago.. of course he survived that. He "survived" something that couldn't hurt him. He wasn't challenged...he was immune. That just revealed he was immune. That was a reveal for us as to how powerful he was...not a challenge for him.

Still the greatest episode I've seen on tv.... yall are acting like it's beyond saying "damn..i would have liked to see more of this"

Aye 2ndly All the homies was fucking Rumbling! Young Obama had the defense stay solid till the last moment! Protected the red woman to light that shit ablaze.....that boy was whirling the shit outta his spear on a pile of dead niggas by himself till the end!

Got damn this shit was ill as fuck!
