Avengers: Endgame (2019) Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)

Naw. You thinking too much.
Everything that happened before this movie is a different timeline.

Captain America DID mess up the timeline by staying in the past.
He pulled a "Flashpoint".

He was not supposed to stay in the past.

He was there and there was another Captain America there. So I wanna know how this works out????

You're half right. The only way it doesn't work is if they pull Captain America out of the ice, then there would be two. Otherwise, Cap stays in the ice and the Cap who went back to 1970 lives out his life there.

They create a different timeline once they change something, but they can always jump back to the timeline from which they came.

With Loki taking the blue stone did that have any real significance, meaning something to go off of for the next phase of marvel movies?

In the first Avenger, Nick had the Blue Cube.

Loki came for it.

In Cap Marvel we learned that the cat spit it up on Fury's desk.

At the end of Avengers, Shield was in possession of the Tesseract.

Or were they.

At the beginning of Infinity War Thor told Thanos that the blue stone was lost on Asgard.

It was but Loki took it.

Then Loki revealed the cube to Thanos.

But in Endgame, they created a wrinkle.

Loki took the cube in NYC dipped thru a portal.

Then in the future Loki took the cube from Asgard so he had that one on the ship too. Loki had 2 cubes.

Loki volunteered to Thanos that he had the stone and just turned it over. Cause he had another one.

That is why he was so confident enough to say that will see Thor again.

Loki ain't dead.

It was a bit more than that. They also got people who weren't dusted to into the fray. There were the Asgardians and the additional wizards.
The ones who turned to dust reappeared wherever they were dusted, and Wong teleported everyone he could for the final battle. Okoye was there I guess (in Wakanda) when Wong teleported them.

You thinking too much and don not understand how time travel works. The Loki that we know is definitely dead.

How is that Cap can call lightning to the Hammer?

Captain America fucked up. He was very selfish and honestly it was out of character for him to stay.
He didn't complete his mission properly. That is not what a solider should do.
Him not coming back changed the timeline. Because Captain America in our timeline wasn't even supposed to go back in time.
If you think about this movie too much it would get more theories than "US".

they are contradicting themselves then

hulk told the ancient one they would bring back the stones to the right time specifically to avoid a divergent timeline

from a time continuity I think they fudged that part to give cap his happy ending, get him to retire and hand over the mantle

Man i saw US two weeks ago and i STILL dont know what those bunnies represented...lol

I am not half right.
Why would the Captain America in ice not come out of the ice?

I noticed that too. Super shady right. Also with time, there are infinite ways no pun intended. However this is the story they wanted to tell.

Lol in the grand scheme Dr strange lined Tony up... He told him he was willing to sacrifice Tony life for the time stone... If you really think about it strange let thanos have the time stone cause he knew Tony would die and the time stone would return back to its rightful owner... Strange even avoided telling Tony how the battle would end cause he knew Tony was gonna die... Strange lined Tony up and nigs didn't even know it... 14 million outcomes and somehow Tony was gonna die lol

They have all the powers mate. All the powers. Might not be as good as Thor as using them. However might be better.

Right but thor is the God of Lightning...he can wield the hammer, but can he call down lightning too?

I have a big question.

Where's the world's various armies when these major battles happen? You'd figure if giant ships showed up across the globe, some major countries would scramble jets.

It was quiet as shit in the theater I went to. No screaming, nothing. Which I loved!!! Only one goofy nigga showed up with the Thanos gauntlet hand thing with lights and shit on it. Dude just looked so out of place. I'm sure the wild crowds will be tonight.

When everybody popped up for the big battle scene, for a minute i thought Luke Cage and the rest of the defenders were gonna show up as well

Scarlett Witch really almost tore Thanos apart before he called for an airstrike from the ship

Always love seeing Scar Jo in that skintight suit

I guess Black Widow solo movie will be prequel with her on espionage missions

also looking like Thor will be in GOTG 3

Really hoping we get Namor in a future BP movie, Atlantis vs Wakanda war

Ours was loud af and it was in one of the most affluent neighborhoods in the DMV lol... but it was the good kinda loud.

Folks cheered when Black Panther showed up, when Cap hit the "Avengers Assemble", when the #MeToo movement popped up. There were some people who were sniffling about Tony's death too.

Overall great vibes in our theater.

So was there a predetermined intermission for everyone that watched the movie? Right around the time Tony and Cap went back to 1970.

Yeah...There can be a good kinda loud for sure at the right parts. LOL @ the #metoo movement.

Well the last time a country tried to help their only option was to drop a nuclear bomb on New York and kill everybody....

Ever since the Phase One flims and the Avengers were formed the military basically let the Heros do their job...

Tony was gonna die anyway in any of the other outcomes. At least he died in the one outcome where they could all win. Strange knew Tony's fate regardless.

I agree with most posters here. Whenever you introduce time travel in a movie the shit can get all out of place...that's why the X-Men series is so fucked up now.

But overall it was a good movie. Everyone got excited seeing black panther walk through the portal.... I wonder who is going to be the main villain in the next phase. Kind of hard to top Thanos.

I am not half right.
Why would the Captain America in ice not come out of the ice?
He has to come out of the ice.

He jumps to 1970, he's still in the ice. If they don't fetch him from the ice, there are no two Captains.

The present (Post Snap), let's refer to that as Timeline Prime.

When they jump back in time and take a stone, an alternate timeline is then created. Let's call that Timeline Chaos.

When they decide to jump back to where they come from, they don't jump forward within Timeline Chaos, they jump back to post snap Timeline Prime.

It's not one linear timeline in which they jump back and forth. The plan was never to prevent the snap. It was to snap everyone back into existence once returning to Timeline Prime.

Cap was super chilling in a separate timeline with Peggy. A timeline in which they never had to dig out Captain America. Once Captain lived his life, he jumped back to Timeline Prime.

My initial reaction to this movie is, it kinda of sucks. Just the whole thing being jump started by a fucking rat. In an abandoned parking garage. I wouldn't mind going to see this movie again. My opinion maybe scewed because of one asshole. In the movie theater, who felt it necessary to make comments. After EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THING that went on in the movie. Whoever cried watching this shit has no hope in life.

Good things about this movie I liked
Fat Thor
Thor Welding Mjolnir and Stormbreaker
CapTain America Scenes Subplot
Cap welding Mjolnir
AntMan
Everybody playing dynoman with the infinity gauntlet and the end, saving the day at the end

Bad things I hated about this movie
Annoying ass know it all, who was talking through out the whole movie.
Getting the rat to start the chain of events, to help the avengers.
Lol, I know a woman who is currently in the hospital, but one of her cats activated an emergency alarm in her apartment. The firemen were on their way to later learn false alarm.
