The Tu160 is the greatest bomber ever made. It flies faster than any production US plane
except the F15 and F22, and the US has no other plane that can intercept it. From that
Island in Venezuela, it can launch a barrage of 12 nuclear-tipped cruise missiles that reach
Chicago. These missiles are hard to intercept because they are very clever. They can fly high,
then go low, and take random individual paths, come back and line up behind each other and
present reduced counts to radar, and then at some point split up and go their different ways.

If there was an F15 in the vicinity of the bomber, the TU160 would simply run away; If the US
the decided that it would chase, the F15 would run out of fuel in about 10 minutes because
generally speaking, that is as much time as most jet fighters have when in full after-burning
mode. The F-22 might be able to last longer since it can cruise at mach 1.8 without after
burner. However this behemoth carries 375, 000 lbs of fuel, and would simply go to mach
2.02 and maintain the speed longer than the F22 could supercruise. The US's best option
would be an anti-aircraft missile....However, in the conflict between the India and Pakistan
a month or so ago, a Russian Su30 plane simply swatted away American made Aim-120
missile after Aim-120 missile with its electronics warfare suite.

The US military knows this, and that is why Pompeo and Bolton went over the top when
the flagship of the Russian air-force landed in Venezuela///

But you know how the US sorties right? Even on a scramble you may be forgetting the support aircraft, especially the AWACS. Even intercontinental, our guys can refuel and still engage. Lots of airframes beat US AirPower on paper. But in the air...

You chase for 10 minutes, slow down to 300 knots to link up with a KC130 tanker
to refuel for 10 minutes, and then chase again. In that time, the TU160 would
be 50o miles away. There is no solution, except possibly a missile barrage from
an Aegis class destroyer... But remember, this thing is loaded with electronic
counter measures operated by a dedicated defensive weapons officer onboard...
Awacs serves as inflight coach, observing everything from the safety of height
and distance. That plane would never get in the fight, and would be unnecessary;
The problem is not in locating this behemoth, whose span 60 feet longer than
an NFL field. The problem is catching up with it. It was designed to run, and it
can stay aloft for hours on end. In the flight to Venezuela, it was in the air for
18 hours without refuelling. In military exercises, it has stayed aloft for 18 flying
the enormous perimeter of Russia.

The thing can put out 275,000lbs of after-burning thrust... There is no
solution, and that is why the US commanders were freaking out. The only
option is for the US to retaliate with the B-52s in Europe... Now if the US
were to use the European meteor missile, which is said to have a 60-mile no
escape zone, that might do it, since the meteor can go 2.5 times the top speed
of a Tu160

The Cnn video didn't have propaganda. RT is a Russian outlet

The propaganda is in your bullshit text. The Tu-160 is obsolete today. US air defenses and fighter squadrons could easily take it out. It's not even stealth.....go play somewhere. Trying to make this out to be the Boogeyman
 
According to the Americans, the TU 160 cost $420 million each to build in the 1980s
and the TU-160 M2 costs $1.5 billion. This is why Russia has only 18 of these planes.

The US has 2 Tu160s acquired from Ukraine in the 1990s when that country foolishly
acceded to US demands that it destroy them. At the breakup of the Soviet Union, the
Ukraine had 2/3 of all the Tu-160s. As it did not have the means to keep them up, or
the need for them, it started chopping them up, until Russia bought them. In that time
the US acquired 2, that it claims to have given to NASA for some of its projects...
