McKinney Introduces Bill to Impeach Bush

Re: Cynthia Mckinney: The World Can't Wait

Cynthia McKinney is a "certified" nut....

I keep hoping one day she finally decides to hop on her broom, fly away and leave the rest of us alone.....

Re: Cynthia Mckinney: The World Can't Wait

It's hard to believe people sided with her when she had the incident with the security guard in congress. Now we really know how crazy she is.

Re: Cynthia Mckinney: The World Can't Wait

Can one of you tell me why you know or believe her to be a "nut"?

We can start with the security guard incident... but that would be too easy....

I live here in the ATL area and like I said... she is a certified nut.

Every problem she has is the whiteman's or someone else's fault.

Saw her debate last year for re-election to congress... trust me...she's not playing with a full deck...

Re: Cynthia Mckinney: The World Can't Wait

One way for the American people to demand accountability from their leaders and a return to respectability is to impeach the Bush Administration. However, the complicity of both major U.S. parties in this intensifying debacle is clear now that the Democrats have taken impeachment "off the table." And if the Democratic Congress, that owes its majority status to antiwar voters, votes to fund the war, then our mission will become very clear.

We will have to change the structure of U.S. politics because changing the people, clearly, isn't enough.

doesn't seem all that crazy to me.

Because of the way she is going about this. It's one thing to start a movement with the people in your country, but when you go about it the way she is, you have to question her antics. She proved once to go over board with that security officer because she didn't feel like a celebrity or got star treatment. Now I look at this and seems like she is trying to be a part of the popular crowd again. A person character says a lot. Her hairstyles she had in office, especially after the security guard incident, said a lot. She was trying to be popular and stand out from the group. I think she is looking for a lot of attention these days. I could be wrong though, but her history hasn't proven me wrong so far.

She doesnt seem nuts, the shit cheney and bush and rice say is crazy, its even more crazy the people in this country do not see it until it is too late.

She must do this out of this country, if she does it here she will be called not a patriot or anti semetic or some other shit.

Americans are alone in the world cause of its foreign policy, sad, sad, sad.

You know as well as I, in this day and age you cannot have courage here, the dems have no balls, they no iraq is wrong and are still scared to really come out against it cause the media will call them all kinds of names.....................................

like nuts
.

Bush and cheney are out of control, but the dems allowed them to be by not having balls and beign scared to be called nuts or take a stand.

why shouldnt bush be impeached, he did far more then clinton

How america blew the 9/11 sympathy the world had is amazing, just amazing and those are the people that should be called nuts, the ones that went abou their greed in the wrong way.

Re: Cynthia Mckinney: The World Can't Wait

"Impeachment is the Constitutional way of saying ‘No, we do not condone what has been done in our name, and we are not complicit.'"
Not true, impeachment is they way of prosecuting a crime that a congressionally confirmed officer did in his/her job. That's it.

I am sick of this hypocritical bullshit that people like her are doing. Most of the congress and the senate voted to allow the president to go into Iraq. This was over the objections of many in thier constituency. Then when shit hits the fan (like many of us feared), then they bark "we didn't have enough time or information", but that doesn't make a good sound bite. So they came up with "Bush led, people died !". However, only congress can declare war. I repeat, ONLY CONGRESS CAN DECLARE WAR !!!. If they felt that they did not have the time to review the facts, or were skeptdical, they should have voted against it. But why didn't they ? Good question. If they had voted against it, they were worried that they would not be re-elected. Valid fear, but thier job is to be a patriot, not a career congress member. But, they just laid everything at the feet of the president, like he did all of it himself. He should be accountable too, but the powers had to agree to take this misbegotten action, and they should ALL be held accountable.

And as for most of the world, the government should get out of minding other peoples business. But be prepared for the criticism "America should do more, because they are rich !!!"

Spoken with perfection and clarity. I wonder why these politicians still think people don't know this debate about sending more troops is NONBINDING. Just a lot of white people sitting around using their 3 day work week to discuss this war like THEY DIDN'T VOTE TO START IT. They did vote to declare war and Bitch Clinton even said she DID NOT listen to the president but did her OWN RESEARCH to make her decision to vote YES for this war. Now BITCH CLINTON is talking she voted to give authority, which is a blantant lie.

The new speaker promised the congress would be working a 5 day work week but so far, it's still 3 days max.

Anyway, that's another story for another thread.

Co-Sign. That's why I vote against Cynthia the last since Denise Majette.

The next election will catch a lot of Democrats out there with their lies. They are forgetting that they will need some of the same people who voted for Bush to get them in. There is a lot of people who are resenting them for not taking responsibility for their actions.

Minor correction, there was one LONE sister who stood up in opposition to the war and voted against giving bush his blank check with Iraq and that was Rep Barbra Lee out of Cali.

I live in Atlanta too and I saw her debate and have it recorded. She clearly won her debate and didn't come off as a nut to me. Her opponent's qualifications and backers were pretty shady too.
She was only defeated because of republicans voting in the democratic primary like they did two election prior to last.

You still haven't provided any information anyone could call "nuts".

Still no list of "nutty antics"

She proved once to go over board with that security officer because she didn't feel like a celebrity or got star treatment.
Security constantly bothered her for ID while allowing white male and female congressmen and congresswomen through without anything. I saw proof in a documentary about the black vote made a year prior to the security guard incident where she and the documentary crew were walking along when a guard came to her and tried to stop her from entering the grounds and thats not even the building. If she assaulted an officer on camera she'd have been prosecuted. Its not like she had friends in high places or any friends on the hill at all right?

Now I look at this and seems like she is trying to be a part of the popular crowd again. A person character says a lot. Her hairstyles she had in office, especially after the security guard incident, said a lot. She was trying to be popular and stand out from the group.
??? Did I miss sequins and fluorescent colors or something?

I think she is looking for a lot of attention these days. I could be wrong though, but her history hasn't proven me wrong so far.

So far I have her hair and the police incident making her a nut. Is that all it takes to be a nut? A hairstyle that you don't think is conservative enough and a run-in with security guards?

actually, Cynthia Mckinney (black woman) voted no for the 2002 Iraq resolution. Sheila Jackson-Lee (black woman) voted no as well, as did several other CBC members.

in total, 133 members of the House and 23 Senators voted against the original war resolution. complete list is here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_...se_of_United_States_Armed_Forces_Against_Iraq

i agree with VG's Clinton assessment and think she, along with all the other flip-floppers who voted in favor, should be held to task. but, that's kind of the point of this whole petition thing McKinney is pushing here right?

seems to me that McKinney is one of the few that has a right to speak out on the subject with conviction like this.

i agree, but none of this leads me to the conclusion that she's a nut. all politicians are attention whores, McKinney included. i believe it's kind of inherent in the type of people that are drawn to those positions.

i have some issues with McKinney, but she had guts while she was in office and she stood up for what she believed in even on high risk issues like calling Bush out on dropping the ball pre-9/11.

the security guard thing was wack to me. from what i saw, she didn't handle it very well. but it is not hard at all for me to believe that the Capitol police have some racist assholes on the squad who could have been fucking with her. so maybe i just don't know all the facts.

the most poingant and disappointing thing about this article to me is the point you raise about why she is delivering this speech in backwater Malaysia. imo, she ought to be doing this on CSPAN or something. i don't agree with everything she said, but some of it was good and needs to be heard.

Wexlar calls for impeachment and help. Where are the Americans

Wexlar calls for impeachment and help. Where are the Americans? They are at Taco Bell or watching Family Guy or down at the American Idol auditions.

They certainly don't care about politics or the nation, or human life in general.

Pay your taxes buy them guns kill Iraqis that's the one. Yeehaw stick it in yer gandma
