Technically it is considered full-sized along with the Audi Q7, Telluride, new Caddy XT6 etc. which are all built on sedan-based platforms.
None of those are as big as the truck-based SUVs like Expedition, Suburban, Escalade, etc

Its semantics, but its technically a Mid Sized Crossover Utility Vehicle aka Standard Size. If it is on a sedan / crossover platform (or in this case a modified Sorrento platform), its still a crossover. Only truck based SUVs are considered full size, which is true.

I have changed my mind about this truck. It is hands down a phenomenal vehicle. BMW worked a miracle into how this car handles and how the 6 cylinder engine moves it. It handles better than the 5 series and the 7 series. The only fail is the brakes. You feel a second surge of weight when you panic stop.

Nice vehicle but BMW is already redesigning the grill.
Where did you see that? Anyway, the grille is not that bad. Honestly, the car is something else. Very comfortable, very fast for the 6 cylinder engine and it actually handles better than the 5 and 7 series sedans. My wife is repacing her X5 this Christmas but she does not want the X7 even though I have tried to convince her to get it.
I read an article on BMW updates and they are not touching the grill on the X5 and X7
