Movie Discussion: CAPTAIN MARVEL (Spoilers) UPDATE: Sequel MARVELS has New Black female director! Feb 2023 most-watched film on any streaming

What Wonder Woman did you see?
Surprisingly good?
It was an average movie.
Maybe because you thought it was going to be "dog shit bad" you are calling it "surprisingly good"?

The feminist already showed out for Wonder Woman
But truth be told...it was surprisingly a pretty good flick
Especially for a DC universe movie

But I'm hearing Captain Marvel is not as good though
Not terrible, but not good either
Just kinda..........meh

One thing I would like to address I know why reviews hated on this movie and it wasn't the feminism angle.

Like I said earlier this reminded me of the old marvel 2 in one comics which would pair 2 characters who you normally would never see together. IN this instance it was nick fury and captain marvel.

A black male and a white women and when they needed help who did they go to?

A black woman!!!

The late Dwayne Mcduffie Said he got flack when he took over justice league and added The black green lantern John Stewart to the line-up. With the another black JL'er on the team, in white folks minds this turned the justice league into a black comic, violating the unwritten rule of no more than 1 black superhero in a group.

The story arch of captain marvel was great IMO but there was no white savior!

2 black folks and a woman was too much for white fragility to cope with.

The easter eggs in this fucking movie was awesome!

The cat was great but IMO what they handled the most BEAUTIFULLY...Was captain marvel!!!

No not the white chick THIS CAPTAIN FUCKING MARVEL:

Once again marvel does a beautiful job of telling a good story while subtly laying the ground work for future projects.

Yeah, I guess my expectations were extremely low
Because I watched Batman vs Superman like a few months before Wonder Woman

:dunno::dunno::dunno:

Okay this is where I make my exit
Ya'll already dropping spoilers
So I'll be back when BGOL Cinemas drops the lanks

:cool::cool::cool:

Just came back from seeing this and I was entertained. Luv the Easter Eggs and the tribute to Stan Lee to start the movie off. The skrull shape shifting special effects were cool and the 1st post credit scene was fire. I need to google that fucking cat cuz it had the skrulls & kree scared for life

I dont want any spoilers. Was it a better movie than Wonder Woman? Aquaman? Ant Man? Dr Strange?
Also did you believe in Brie Larson as a hero? I really dont like blonde white girls.

I noticed that from jump.. They have got to get better bodies on this malnourished bitches.
Thats because shes so thin she cant properly fill out a suit. She would actually look worse in spandex because she has the body of a pre teen.
White men like skinny ass preteen body having white girls

I saw the movie and I liked it though I didn't analyze it. The twist with the Skrull being the good guy kind of remind me of America. If you're not looking you would think that America is the good guy, but if you take a step back and watch, America is the criminal and the other countries are the good guys and America is just fucking with everybody because they can
I thought the skrulls were the bad guy

I dont want any spoilers. Was it a better movie than Wonder Woman? Yes Aquaman? HELL THA FUCK YES Ant Man? Yes IMO more relevant, I still look at ant man as a fringe character instead of integral. Dr Strange? I would say on par with strange in establishing character and ability
Also did you believe in Brie Larson as a hero? She did well I will expond my thoughts below for others in a spoiler link.I really dont like blonde white girls.
See above for spoiler free answers

For those who saw it
Like I said before this wasn't so much brie larson/CM movie, as it was a team up that told 2 character origins. Brie did a good job but IMO the focus easily flowed to other characters. she wasn't force fed on us, she was just part of the story we saw.

MANNN the 1st 10-15 minutes of the movie had my mouth agape I couldn't believe they were actually pulling off a good telling of the Kree/skull war.

Also that is another reason I believe people (read fragile white male ego's) were shiting on this movie so hard. I always looked at the kree in comics as this neo nazi aryan, super race wannabe mutha fucka's.

This movie showed thru their bullshit rhetoric. Showed how they will turn on yo ass the instant you start to think for yourself and realize they full of shit. and will use their gestapo methods (ronin the accuser) and go scorched earth the minute they find they have loss the advantage of their false superiority...Did I read too much into that?

Also another reason I feel white boys were losing they mind now that I've seen it...They made Mar-vel a WOMAN?!?

That shit had white boys heads exploding like

Mar-vel in 70's comics was the unofficial pinacle of aryan greatness

Didn't have the epicness of WW or big crazy fx of Aquaman but I thought it was overall a more entertaining movie. It was definitely better than Antman and Wasp too. It was a cool little story. I wish it had a bigger scope because of the characters but probably in the sequel. Idk what the budget was but it seems like it was probably small.
Im not crazy about brie larson but she was serviceable and got better as it went.

Seeing this & the growing expansion of MCU's cosmic universe makes me want to see a Nova movie even more
I hope they don't skimp on the budget with the cosmic stuff going forward. I felt like they did with this but it was ok because it was mostly on earth and a small story

When fully powered up Captain Marvel looked like she was more on par with the power set she had as Binary. Either way the effects were cool

If they give us a Nova movie I really hope they use the Annihilation plot. They kind of already set the stage for it in Avengers Infinity War when Thor said Thanos decimated Xandar

Yea it worked here.
I guess we'll see what the $$$ looks like.
If it makes a good profit than im sure the sequel budget will be bigger.
I want the cosmic stuff to feel epic.
At least on par with what guardians is doing

Wasnt expecting much but i was pleasantly suprised, i enjoyed the plot twist of her power origins, just dont know how in the hell that fits in the timeline, solid flick and minimal girl power shit

Post credit scene was fire also

Timeline I believe they said 89 is when she was taken and this movie takes place 6 years later.

Yea she was just ok in the role (even possibly miscast) Watching the movie, I thought over and over Kat Dennings would've been perfect for the role. She would've done the snarky sarcasm schtick much better imo. And she's prettier and has a better body.
