Netflix: The Last Kingdom Discussion Thread (All Seasons)(Trailer Final Movie Drops 4/15)

get to it -its a bit better and much more violent than last kingdom... if you can find the uncut /unrated episodes of Vikings its even better with extra scenes, nudity and more gore

We have had this discussion.. man there are too many damn shows now. You can't even depend on the summer to give you time to catch up anymore.

didn't know that existed...would def like to see that version...to me shows that take place during these earlier times are done a serious disservice when they have to cut back on language nudity and violence due to TV restrictions...also the storylines are often predictable and unnecessarily extended for TV when dealing w/ shows on non-premium cable channels as stories are oftentimes compromised for ratings...vikings was another solid show but again didn't feel like something I had to watch

Agree with all of this... Medieval and gangsta theme shows should not be on basic cable... unless FXX. Even though they can't really do the nudity.. they somehow get the graphic violence through. I would love to see a Harlem Themed gangster show on FX. Basically Hoodlem the series.

Man I should be working in TV.

Watched a couple more eps, dam I was feeling for Uhtred, gotta do some arranged marriage shit just to get land and title. Then find out that the bitch u marrying's land carries debt thats been increasing every year? Thats like in this modern era marrying some bitch and finding out she got $300k of debt that you're now gonna be partially on the hook for smh.

Just finished both seasons, show did get pretty good but i still like Vikings more, the main characters in Vikings I like more. Dam Eric fell for that Athelflad pussy and turned on his brother. Wonder if this show will get a season 3. Well time to start on season 2 of Master of None now

About the Chicks......
The chick he was made to marry was too stiff for his character
The witch was bad and played her role to a "T". I didn’t see her demise coming though...I thought she was going to be captured and used as a bargaining chip
The chick he married (that punk ass king's sister) had a lot of say in his life and decisions.
His first love (brida) is batshit crazy. I couldn't place her. And I don't know why every time I see her I see Sara Huckabee Sanders (don't ask me why .....Lazy eyes maybe?
King's daughter wants him badly
Uhtred's sister could prove more powerful if she was allowed to use the dogs/wolves....
The nun loves Uhtred but can't follow thru I wanted them to consummate that hidden love
King Alfred's wife ain't shit. She is the antagonist of the show.

The show is fucking good...

I just got into the show and am on S2E3 and am finally seeing it as a worthy successor to GOT. Nowhere near as good, but some of the battles and the surprising betrayals are there. And, quite a few deaths of important characters. I’m going to have to find some eps to skip though

Check Rampant after that.

Btw Kingdom is mostly based on actual historical events. Uthred is a made up character, but most of the others are real, like Ubba, Alfred and Gutred

imo vikings not GoT

Uthred is the adopted great grandson of Ragnar Lothbrook
Alfred is Atostan's son
Mercia is still a vassal state thanks to King Ecberths scheme
etc

This season was lit, haven't seen a brother take that many Ls since Viserys in GoT

man this affair with Princess Aethelflaed is driving me crazy. I mean I don't blame Uhtred... but jesus man... This dude has known this girl since she was a child.

Started off loving this show.
Then when it changed from BBC (i think) to Netflix exclusive it fell off.
Still watch it when theres nothing else for me to do

Not bumping for word on Season 5 but bumping cause i just discovered that Lady Aelswith has been hiding a fat ass under those Old English Clothes ..

Eliza Butterworth

Also she is dating a brother which makes sense when looking at her body...
