I don't think the Online launch will be as bad as everyone fears. 
Sure, there will be some issues... but GTA V Online was like 5 years ago... I think they have earned their lesson since then.

just started chapter 6...I get the “uncharted” jokes re: chapter 5 lol...brutal chapter tho...shit took a tough turn for a lot of folks...gonna push to complete this by wed./thurs. so I can have like a week left to just hunt...do side missions I skipped and explore the map some more

This game is so dope. My encounter had totally different dialogue. Those Murfree dudes pulled guns on me while I was sleeping at my campfire. They warned me not to come back to that area. When I had this encounter, it was the same two dudes saying they warned me not to come back.

There is a random (homeless) Blind Man on the side of the road carrying a staff. He is a 'truth teller'.
And if you stop & talk to him... he predicts your future, in the game.
Question: Did you ever see the Blind Man BEFORE the Murfee Brood pulled guns on you while sleeping?
If so, I'm guessing awhile ago.... the Blind Man probably told you something like: "Be warned, Sir. Do not sleep too deeply. The man with no nose is coming for you."
And I bet that one of those Murfee dudes who woke you up had a wild scar across his nose... and/or part of it was missing.

I spent $60, all before I discovered the PAC standard glitch. Plus, I bought the game on PS3, too.
I only did a dupe glitch once. Got about $30M and I was set. WTF is wrong with folks spending $2000 on fake money? Money be Green

I'm wandering around getting dinosaur bones and cigarette cards. I think I'm one chapter 2 as well. I've killed the legendary bear, boar, moose, coyote & Bighorn Ram. Anything I come across along the way I pick up.
There is a lot to see. I always save before an interaction with anyone. One chick rolled up on my camp talking about she was cold and I turned her away because I didn't want to get robbed before I'd had a chance to save. I'm off after Tuesday for the rest of the week. I'll be busy playing.

I'm far behind. I'm at like 11% complete. I just killed the legendary bear and on my way back two mofos killed me and when I respawned the bear skin was gone. I tried to replay it but no go.

Check your stash. Legendary bear is in there. Catch the train to Saint Denis, there is a trapper where you can sell him your bear and he can make you items.
If you dont have enough money, look up the gold bar glitch, that should get you straight
If you die before you sell the pelt to the trapper you lose it.

Damn, my bad. Welp, save often. And turn autosave off. I tried to save every 10 to 15 minutes or after everything (if I find a cigarette card or get a perfect pelt) that way I don't lose it
You dont lose it lose it. You just cant sell it to the trapper. It still counts as a kill its automatically given to the trapper
Any legendary pelt you collect is at the Trapper if you're killed along the way. The drawback to that is you can't sell it to him of course.
It shows I have a bear claw in inventory and when I look at the map there is a x where I killed the bear. Where is this trapper thing to get skin back

When you reach Chapter 2 in the main story missions (indicated by the yellow icons)... find the old guy named Hosea, back at the main Base Camp.
Sooner or later, he will invite you on a side-mission (indicated by the white icons) to go Bear Hunting. This mission will unlock the 5 Trapper locations on the map.
The 5 Trapper locations have a 'Paw Print' icon on the map.
IMPORTANT: On the Map, the (yellow) Main Story missions will always be accessible until you run them. But some of the (white) Side Missions are time-sensitive & will disappear if you wait too long. But they will usually re-spawn at a later time. Sometimes it takes a few days (in-game) for them to re-spawn. (For example: There are some side-missions that involve Fishing. These missions are only available during 'daylight hours'. Never at night.)
