The show needs a mediator or someone to guide the conversation along. Joe isn't it. I love the podcast, love his take on things. But he's better when he's responding and fully into the debate and not trying to keep everything straight too.

It’s like the lite version of Joe Budden podcast. That’s also what bothers me it’s like joe treats it like his podcast with his jokes while the other cast mates be dead ass serious. If you watched this but haven’t watched his podcast do yourself a favor and give it a go. It started of rough but Once the chemistry gets going Joe, Mal, and Rory really are hilarious. Like one episode where they had this deep debate if Jhene Aiko washes her ass and Mal was in disbelief this nigga said and I quote “ you out in southern cali not washing your ass daily in mid summer” Doesn’t sound that funny but you have to see his face. That’s just one of a thousand quotables from the podcast.
Also I’m not sure if joe needs 3 shows about the same shit

I've watched all his shit. IMO the best place for him was that complex show.
And yeah he damn sure doesn't need 3 shows.
His podcast is very pedestrian. Cool at times but inconsistent. Just him and his boys hanging. I don't mind it. Sometimes I like it. That's the best out of the 3.

State of the culture is his attempt at mainstream and Joe just isn't that type of guy. I want Joe to.win but I'm starting to think he shot himself on the foot by leaving complex. That worked for me. This don't.

Haven't seen all his shows, but seen a few and I kinda agree the complex 1 is the 1 he kinda fit perfectly with...I think every other show wants him to be that same character but unfortunately the same character might not be perfect for every show... Thing is he still gonna get paid regardless and gotta respect how that 1 character gave him 3 diff formats
I don’t know I like the off the cuff let it flow kinda thing they got on the Joe Budden podcast. I agree with you on “pull-up” joe is not a good one on one interviewer he needs a supporting cast. Maybe one day he will get better at that.
State of the culture can be good if joe relax on the jokes and go with the flow. Joe on complex we probably won’t ever get again because he was fresh in the game raw and uncut. It was him at his rawest but you know once them checks start coming in you have to change a little.
This last episode really make me hate her. She was riding so hard for Tiffany haddish I love how Remy was lowkey checking her shit was funny.
REMY is hilarious bruh I can see them being the new everyday struggle. You can have joe and Remy going at each other and jynx as the moderator aka voice of reason
I might try watching the rest of it today...I started last nite and said fuck it...budden is a pretty “chaotic” figure and I think it works best for his podcast...but it’s hard for me to sit thru his muddled train of thought when it’s a more serious setting like this show or ‘everyday struggle’...but ya I felt I read that chic accurately after her appearance on the ‘pull up’...remy and jinx have surprisingly been the “stars” of the show

I definitely agree about not needing three shows, all the same but slightly different.
But “SOTC” is once a week so in actuality it’s not that bad.
Also, it wasn’t his choice to leave Complex, they didn’t want to pay and didn’t treat him right. He was their biggest star. Now many including myself never watch Complex related shows.

theres a difference between addressing popular topics and waiting on the chance to pounce and say something "real". That's kinda the trend with all the podcasts out there now. People know if you say the "non PC" Thing, you could possible get some attention. Remy has the rep as the chick who went to prison, Joe "speaks his mind", Scotty is just the loud chick thats "speaking her truth", and the Jinx guy--- hes too sensible to even be on there lol. If I were him I'd eat away from that shit. He's likely to catch a stray beatdown just from association.
And why are they calling all this stupid shit "the culture" anyway? Culture is much more broad than dumb shit that hip-hop celebrities are doing each week.
