As much as I don't condone her or anyone else making blanket attacks against Black men Tariq does have an unfortunate practice of reframing every person who disagrees, displeases, or speaks against him as an enemy of all Black people.
This is why I'm glad that my plan to hire him as a business coach fell through. It's also why I've stopped attending his lectures, listening to his podcasts or supporting his films.
Much respect for all the knowledge, advice, inspiration, and perspective about game from Tariq overthe years, but I just can't take him seriously anymore.

Yes they do. Her father is proof. And I've known a few ex activists (ie Panthers, NOI, SNCC) Who decided it would be better to BE in the force and help patrol their own than to be outside if it. Ive also known some who joined the US Army. It goes both ways. Many former military became Panthers as well. So y'all hear about white extremists joining the force, but when a former Pantger joins the force it's a problem? Show us where here father did something actually corrupt as a cop. Who else was a black panther and joined the police force??? Now the panther party was heavily infiltrated as many have admitted. The Chinese guy who joined supplied the guns and also ratted on them. I have not found any other member joining the force but they are some who held a political position, but that's what they wanted; a voice and chair in the political world to try and change the climate for us black n brown ppl. Bobby tried to run for Mayor but lost so there's been many with political office aspirations for the right reasons. You join the police force tho??? I don't see him doing shit for black ppl while on the force....Micheal A. Wood Jr. has done as a cop in Baltimore with his whistleblowing than David Lemieux... But it's the same way tons of Panthers ended up being politicians, college professors and other jobs that integrated into society. The black Panthers were over before the 70s even kicked off. Her dad joined the force first as a member of a league of Black officers when there WERE NO black cops, and Black people wanted to patrol their own communities. When Harold Washington became, he pushed for more Black cops. More on it here.

A year later, Harold Washington became the city’s first black mayor. There was an immediate difference in the department, said Lemieux, an actor who gained acclaim for his role as Pretty Willie in the 1973 film “The Spook who Sat by the Door.”
Washington made a concerted effort to increase the number of African-American police supervisors. His actions, Lemieux said, prompted many white officers to transfer from the 3rd District, where he was stationed and later where Evans was a commander, to other districts. He said the white officers who remained had always been respectful of the residents in the district, which encompasses 60th to 75th streets and the Dan Ryan Expressway to Lake Michigan.
Previously, the white officers were assigned east of Stony Island Avenue in what Lemieux described as an informal policy. “They called that the ‘safe part’ of the district,” he said chuckling.
The remainder of the white officers who didn’t want to work in the district transferred when Washington was reelected.
“That eliminated police going out hunting black boys. That eliminated the contempt that so many [black residents] held for the police who were occupying an area,” said Lemieux.
Long before they met, Lemieux and his long-time police partner, Gerald Hamilton, shared a commitment to advocating for African-American residents and mitigating the abuse so many were experiencing at the hands of white officers.
“When we worked in the community, you might be having Sunday breakfast with your family at Army and Lou’s,” he said, referring to a former soul food restaurant on East 75th Street. “Using commonsense you shouldn’t mess over people you are going to see. I am not afraid of my own people. I love my people.”
Hamilton said many African-American officers didn’t agree with Lemieux. “When I joined, I said I am my brother’s keeper.” But for many of his peers, he said, “The blue often overrode the black.”
