First the women was Canadian, you are dealing with diplomatic relationships with two countries. The U.S. does not want Canadian men raping American women and not being prosecuted. It could flip and an American women would be seeking Justice in a Canadian court.
The criminal justice system as it relates to black defandants is similar to Andrea Constandt plight. Yes we are U.S. citizens but the deck is stacked against you as evidenced by the statistics. It would be no different than committing a crime in another country. Bill Cosby was prosecuted in a county overwhelming white.
It is really a hybrid system between a diplomatic/consulate. We do provide some input as far as jury pools and voting for the prosecutor but it is very limited.

A lot of black folks on my Facebook keep defending Cosby, I can't defend dude. I have a mother and daughter. Way too many women have came out against dude and all their stories sound familiar with how he chose to rape them. I understand black folks get a raw deal with the justice system but I just can't defend this. He got what he deserved.
