Without a polarizing event like 9/11 to drive enlistment, people fall back to the normal reasons to enlist. Better opportunities (ie money). The economy is doing well and unemployment is low so less people are going to signup if they have other options.

As for the military, hasn't the downtrend been going on? Young people just don't seem to be on it like in days past. Each generation seems to get more hip to the government's bullshit. Harder to get people to join to fight these manufactured wars half a world away.
That’s not true they expanded to the other parts of the world. But You are right they do not have to do a full Military war with United States they can just hurt us economically with the help of Trump of course By the way these Tariffs Are really hurting the Midwest.
