The best speculation I've seen so far is actually pretty simple. What Strange saw in all the futures he peeped was that basically two things needed to happen for them to have a chance...Tony needed to be alive and the Guantlet needed to be complete. Thanos was still trying to complete the Guantlet when Strange gave him the Time stone. And he had to have that to get the Mind stone and complete it. Whatever is coming next, they're gonna need the completed Guantlet and Tony willing to do anything for them to beat it.

We have not seen Thanos employ the full power of the Infinity Gauntlet. Killing half the Universe is basically only a sample of its full power.

There is more to Thanos plan of killing half the Universe. If you think about it, the Universal population could replace itself within a years time or more depending on alien species pregnancy rates and how fast they can reproduce with their technology.

Quite possibly. They've let on that the overarching story for Phase 4 is the Skrull Invasion, so I would expect Cap to be around. RDJ is too expensive now and they dont really need him like they did. He can show up for a cameo here and there. The cartoons forecast a lot of moves they plan to make, and the new Avengers lineup on Avengers Assemble was Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ant Man and the Wasp, Vision and Ms. Marvel. I could see something close to that in Avengers 4. But by that time, they will have the Fantastic 4, X-Men, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Dr Doom, etc to play with, so it will continue to be epic.
a real wolverine movie...or a storm solo...but they’re gonna have to wait years for the stench of fox to go away...so if they’re smart it probably won’t drop anytime soon
I take it you have not seen the deleted alternate ending scene from “Wolverine” that came out in 2013.
