55 gal. im getting a hatchling, so it should do fine in it for the first year and a half and then i'll have to build a proper enclosure for it.

Depends on what type u get. Black Caimans get up to 20ft. Smooth-fronted Caimans....the males can get up to 7ft....females around 5ft. Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman can get up to 5 1/2ft....females around 3 to 3 and a half ft.
I have a female Cuvier.

I handled her a bit when I first took her out the box. She didn't snap or hiss. Seemed pretty docile. When I fed her Sunday, she was totally different. Just a fuckin savage on those feeder minnows. I don't plan on letting her run around the house. My wife would have a fit.

Thanks for answering. I watched the vids posted and now realize that they aren't to be handled and aren't cuddly little creatures

I think they're nice and fun to look at but I wouldn't want it if I couldn't actually do anything with it.
