There is a restaurant in Richmond VA called Sally Bell's Kitchen. https://www.sallybellskitchen.com/

Iconic place known for it's 100% homemade food and of course box lunches.

Here is a white owned establishment, (3rd and 4th generation run) that employs (3rd and 4th generation black folks), of course black folks doing all the work.

At what point do we take "OUR" skills and talents and use them for "OUR" financial benefit? For "US" by "US"

Please share your thoughts and feelings on this. Youtube clip explains it all.

Brother got 20 years in, his grandmother had 60 years and his Momma had 20+

What struck me about his story is this that he learned from his Momma those recipies.

I love my Richmond brothas and sistas. Richmond, VA has some of the most genuine brothas and sistas you will ever meet. However, Richmond sometimes can feel like you’re in a time warp and you went back in time. That maybe because I lived in and around the District of Columbia almost my whole life. Anyway, I love Richmond and have fond memories of the place.

Also, some people just get comfortable where they’re in life. Some folks are willing to do the trade their parents and grandparents did. Some people just ain’t built for entrepreneurship. I am not being an apologist for the way one family benefited from another black family (you will see this all over the south). I will say that some people still work the same job that they have been at the last 20 or 30 years. I have seen it. The only difference they have a 401k, benefits, or a pension. You will have some entrepreneurs say that those people are crazy and don’t take enough chances. Everyone isn’t built for the hustle.

PS — my ex-wife stole all my mother’s recipes and I am pissed about that.

I bet they ain't paying them shit either.

That owner and her relatives look like they are doing well financially.

That young woman at the end looks like "She can't wait to take over"

Them employees in there sound like old slaves " I's feeding they kids, my momma fed dem , my grandma fed dey parents"

That brother needs to copyright those recipes and start making cookbooks, videos, see if he can get that shit in grocery stores.

I appreciate the honest input Family.

While I am happy to see black folks doing good I'm sad to see they are not using their talents to pass wealth on to their own children.

Need the whole story.

Could be that the black folks wasn't business-minded, the white ones were & they struck an agreement.
