Pusha T Response to Drake: The Story of Adidon

Nah... you just soft that's all and that's ok.

For the rest of us though, this is hip hop.

Ain't no off limits.
Nigga you don't know me. And anybody that thinks talking about a person that may be dying is hard, would be the first one crying in the courtroom or sweating and singing in the interrogation room. That shit wasn't hard, it was corny and not at all clever. I'm all for anything goes, but the shit should at least make sense and have something to do with the battle.

ok.. but then what does Pusha's fiance has to do with the battle?

I don't need to know you to understand the rules of engagement in hip hop. They've spoken for themselves since the beginning.

Ironically enough, it made perfect sense, had no less to do with the battle than the Canadian going after Ye, and was clever af. In fact, it was probably one of the most clever lines in the entire song.

But because it doesn't meet your "tough guy" criteria, it's somehow not viable?

Cool.

I hope you felt that way when Drake was poking fun at kid Cudi mental health issues
I only heard him reference Cudi in two birds one stone and all I heard him say was he takes drugs so he doesn't have to face reality. I didn't hear him crack on mental illness, unless you are talking about another song. But in that song he was talking directly to Cudi and sending shots at him. It wasn't like his mental illness caught a bar just because he's cool with Push. Nigga basically said oh yeah, you mentions my fiance's name..that's why your friend is dying. I just didn't like it and thought it wasted space in the track. Not trying to really argue the point with some niggas that would find a way to justify anything.

You're both correct but talking about a man with MS who to our knowledge never said anything about Push is wrong.

Drake mentioning Pusha's fiancé was very wrong which is why Pusha went after everyone when dissing Drake. Had Drake not done that, we would've heard a different track from Push.

Pusha's criticizing Drake for having writers when Ye is known to have writers so that was fair game. Talking about 40's MS was kinda foul being that he's not part of the beef directly.

If 40'was talking shit I'd feel different.

When Pac talked about Prodigy's sickle cell it was crazy because of the emotion and how raw it was. Plus Prodigy was part of the beef. If Pac said that about someone P worked with or just knew it'd be kinda foul.

Edit:

In hindsight, Pusha's fiancé had nothing to do with the beef so I guess he was showing Drake how it feels.

Don't need to justify anything tho
Like don't mention his family he won't mention yours
It's classic glass House throwing stones family.

Ye ain't considered a rapper
Drake was

nah that shit was a dope
I wouldn't have done it and it was fucked up to bring him up
but this is war to Pusha and everything is on the table to him
Drake brought up his fiance, now that didn't make sense
Drake brought up Kanye,
when you break this diss down, he didn't waste not a single word
shit was surgical and precise especially once the back story came out

Ye isn’t considered an “MC” but still, Pusha can’t be screaming about how someone doesn’t write their rhymes when his boss and person he looks up to doesn’t either.

I get what you’re saying though.

I disagree. Ye is a producer first and doesn't call himself the greatest with respect to rapping. Drake has gotten within his head that he is good enough to be on par with Jay-Z etc. That is a very big claim. Can't be claiming that but have ghostwriters is basically why Pusha Thanos called him out. Also he gets called out for portraying the tough guy image when he isn't about that life.

pretty much
i'm not the moral police
I wouldn't have said/done it but I understand
you bring up a man's soon to be wife, all bets are off

I think it's all fair game. Drake wanted to take it there. Push brought it there. Now his fans are saying that Push went too far. The more I listen to the duppy freestyle the more I feel like Drake went too far bringing up his fiance. I mean... I don't get it? Was he trying to do? Wash he threatening Push by saying I know who you fiance is and yall better watch your backs? What was the point of that?

I hear ya and agree with you on all of your points. It's still strange talking about someone not writing rhymes when the person standing next to you does the same.

There shouldn't be lines in these kinds of things if you ask me. If you don't like someone, don't temper it to appease people. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're capable and able, that's your arsenal. Use it.

Had Drake said some shit like that to Pusha, I woulda had no problem with it either.

All's fair in war.

Apparently Pusha doesn’t feel the same way as you, because he thought the mention of his fiancée was “Off Limits” and saw red when he heard her name.

Which is why he went so hard.

I'm glad he doesnt think that way.

We as fans win.

True.

Just saying, when he heard her name he was thinking “Huh”?

But even that was different because she’s “Really”’not a part of the beef. Drake fucked up saying her name.

Like you said, we fans win.

Yea I get it and rightfully so. I'd react in the same manner if he drug wifey into it.

Let's see what this rebuttal comes with. (Pending)
