Drake caps back at Pusha T

I can understand if you are not a fan of Joe or even dislike him, but to doubt his penmanship and lyrical ability shows your knowledge of hip hop artistry.

Drake wisely wants no parts of this guy. :smh:

I'm a very big fan of Joe's lyrical ability. But if you think Push is not in his league or he is such a scary MC to go against, and Push isn't then we completely disagree on that. Joe the same one that lost a face to face battle and didn't know how to act.

what a minute...

Drake is with Apple correct?

OK he releases a record like THIS on soundcloud?

that has to have been APPROVED somewhere....

@ViCiouS damn man

I don't think like seeing how the matrix works.
Apple is just streaming / digital- at first it was for limited time exclusives - seems they stopped that

his label deals are still YMCMB -> CashMoney-> Republic -> Universal
Plus OVO -> WB -> Universal

Don't ask me how his money is getting divided up... All |I can tell you is Drake took in a lot of advances including Apple

Proof on decades ?
Sinatra%20and%20Crosby.jpg

Technically, you're right. Hank promised Kas he'd pay him on the back end, but never did, so, that's theft.

One of the WORST in hip hop, and sadly it was like a curse on the baby of popular hip hop music

cause it continued the long time tradition of theft in Black music...

Black on Black.

And the fact that the RHYME ITSELF he admitted to stealing it?

Every time I hear it?

Is pathetically sad hurtful and heartbreaking now that I'm older.

That don't even make sense, I aint to lawyer or nothing but how in the f*ck is ALL that possible and profitable?

So just for fun...

how MUCH money would Drake have made if he STAYED independent?

we probably wouldn't know his name... or maybe he would have broken through around 2012 2014
Drake was on paper long before most ever heard of him (yes - mid /late 2000s mixtape Drake)

Oh THATS what he said lol. I couldn't figure it out. Nice.
Yeah nikes and Mercedes were popular x pill stamps back in the gap lol it went over lots of squares heads (not calling you a square).

It be funny reading people's interpretations of some rap lyrics

A couple bars turned that nigga in Pusha Mill:lol:
this funny.....

my peeks where hyping that track up, saying they couldn't wait for the album, Drake didn't want non, Pusha blessed Drake...

when i post the song in our group chat, i didn't hear not a sound, i had to ask them about that shit yesterday when we was all together...

-"say i noticed y'all didn't reply to my text"

- "Pusha just was saying he didn't writing his own music, he didn't even go in on Drake"
-"Pusha song sound better"

-"why u was hush mouf, we know Drake had writing from other places"
"all Drake trying to let folks know, stop playing with him, dude said pusha rapping about what his family was slanging"
"y'all saw how he came at Meek after he rode for him, Drake told Wayne and Baby he got them "

they didn't say much more

Aubrey needed Universal to get him where he's at today. 10 niggas are probably eating off his album sales.....but I think even in the end he's making more money then he ever would indie.

Now? The label heads and A&R's gotta explain to me why he wouldn't be indie now. The model of getting albums out there is equivalent to mixtapes use to be. Hell some of these albums being released are mixtapes that they are calling "playlists". So with the industry going towards strictly streaming for the most part......why are dudes signing deals? Is it the aspect of spending other peoples money to generate income? I could get that for lesser artists but for a artist the caliber of Aubrey I don't understand why he's on a major but I guess you have to see his contract to understand why.

good question

@ViCiouS would like to take a crack at THAT one?

What beef did they have?
before my time but how it was explained to me - is its more like rivalry
Sinatra was chasing Crosby's vocal skill - at first it was just trying to be different to break through - then later it evolved into trying to attain the same mastery while being unique. Through it all Sinatra said a few rash things about it or Crosby's style to the press

Record execs and promoters started framing it competitively and fans chose sides - so everytime they needed a bit of buzz or hype they would stir some shit between them to eventually bring Crosby n Sinatra together on a record or tour or fund raising around WW2 and USO, and eventually movies & TV- that cheat code worked from the 30s to the late 60s

And universal aka nbc aka Comcast is funding a Drake v Pusha T battle.?

With Rhymefest and Kanye catching shrapnel ?

Sinatra was king no?

Wtf bing Crosby sold more records than Michael Jackson

He’s the highest record selling artist and a actor

I’m bout to research

because most of these artists want to be famous... you don't get that without paying the gatekeepers

there a lot of artists making +7 figures doing direct sales touring +/- 2000 seat venues and festivals but they aren't famous
The only reason Mac Miller and Macklmore are known are because they cut in the gatekeepers - but both were very well off before any fame
look at Odd Future pre Universal distribution deal

Lol

The line about selling nikes and Mercedes to college kids but making it sound like he moved coke w Escobar in the 80's

Ecstasy pills usually have some kind of pop culture logo or clip art style picture embossed or debossed into each pill, kind of a branding thing. So with certain pills, you supposedly knew what you were getting. Nike signs, Mercedes symbols, dolphins on blue pills, etc. were popular in the streets for a time.

The implication from drakes song is that push might have sold some lil party pills to some college kids, but raps like he was this big coke kingpin.

My personal belief is that niggas who was out here moving it like that had no interest in recording and distributing confessions over beats, but hey. I didn't know everybody. Hell, Meech bought a billboard.

YUP

why do you think after the examples of Master P Cash Money Tony Draper and especially Tech 9

that MORE rappers afterward did NOT pursue more independent deals

ESPECIALLY since there was STILL money to be maid?

Lol
