Don't wanna start no fights here but Brooklyn started it, way back in the 90's.

Utica, Flatbush, Remsen...
Did that when I was a teen with my boys in the 50's
Lol I was Jus's explaining this particular route.. I kno diff forms of dollar vans exist in other areas... Jus's !ike the Dominican in the heights got they $20 out of state vans and other places got their mini versions

I would’ve put the van in neutral and applied a parking brake, then fucked him up rather than HOPE he doesn’t get me killed

he didnt say nothing wrong... its true what you are saying but all he said was it was started by members of the business minded hustlers of the west indian community

because many didnt have the paper work to get legit jobs so they had to get their hustle on...

the mta went after them hard. some of those cats made good money going up and down utica ave...

dude that got away had to run because it wasnt about just not having a license it was about possibly being deported...

he gonna owe a lot of money for that van tho...

Van was probably hot too so he was looking at a bunch of shit.

Motherfucker really thought someone would sit in the driver seat for him and take the rap while he ran off. Really?

That fucker.

I was making a joke about who started it first Brooklyn or Queens. If I remember it correctly, was Brooklyn. I know one of my friends was the first to get legally licensed in Brooklyn. A bunch of us went to court for him to testify as witnesses that we would get on his van on 49th and 51st streets avoiding Utica. So the judge issued him the first TLC to a van in the 1990's.

Queens was first in the early 80s - started as gypsy cabs then minivans and vans- no train stations no buses in large areas of se queens at that time
first saw vans on Utica and Flatbush in the late 80s
