What does the Soul Gem actually do?
The Soul Gem allows the user to steal, control, manipulate, and alter living and dead souls. The Soul Gem is also the gateway to an idyllic pocket universe. At full potential, it grants the user control over all life in the universe.
Why would they think it is hidden in Wakanda?
Because the Black Panther has an additional title... in the comics, he is also known as
The King of the Dead.
Necropolis is the Wakandan City of the Dead... where Black Panthers go to die.
In the comics, Necropolis is where Black Panther can commune with all the previous Black Panthers who have ever lived.
That's why some folks believe Black Panther's ability to commune & control the Dead.... comes directly from the power of the Soul Gem.... which might be still hidden deep inside the mountain of Vibranium.
Agreed, it is pure speculation. It's just opinion.
But its not based on faulty logic, or flawed premises.
It's just a guesstimate.
Some folks just combine what they know about the comics... with what they have seen in the movies... with what the filmmakers themselves have actually said in interviews.
And then draw their own conclusion.
