Official BGOL Crypto Currency Thread ★★★★★

yea they better get their act together stop being greedy.. before they really find out how crypto crypto can get...
These cocksuckers want to crash the market, make it virtually impossible for non-accredited law-abiding people to make crypto money by talking all this 'potential' and 'might' shit, and then talk taxes. :hmm: ... :roflmao: Shit is going to get ugly.

And we still got the G20 to deal with. They already pushing the money laundering bullshit. I swear if people needed any proof that these governments are basically Neegans they have it now. Crypto has a lot of anarchists. Governments just making them look right.

They working over fucking time to create a huge blackmarket. :smh:

Sierra Leone just ran the first blockchain-based election

The citizens of Sierra Leone went to the polls on March 7 but this time something was different: the country recorded votes at 70% of the polling to the blockchain using a technology that is the first of its kind in actual practice.

The tech, created by Leonardo Gammar of Agora, anonymously stored votes in an immutable ledger, thereby offering instant access to the election results.

“Anonymized votes/ballots are being recorded on Agora’s blockchain, which will be publicly available for any interested party to review, count and validate,” said Gammar. “This is the first time a government election is using blockchain technology.”

“Sierra Leone wishes to create an environment of trust with the voters in a contentious election, especially looking at how the election will be publicly viewed post-election. By using blockchain as a means to immutably record ballots and results, the country hopes to create legitimacy around the election and reduce fall-out from opposition parties,” he said.

Why is this interesting? While this is little more than a proof of concept – it is not a complete voting record but instead captured a seemingly acceptable plurality of votes – it’s fascinating to see the technology be implemented in Sierra Leone, a country of about 7.4 million people. The goal ultimately is to reduce voting costs by cutting out paper ballots as well as reducing corruption in the voting process.

Gammar, for his part, sees the value of a decentralizes system.

“We’re the only company in the world that has built a fully-functional blockchain voting platform. Other electronic voting machines are ‘block boxes’ that have been increasingly shown to be vulnerable to security attacks. For that reason, many US states and foreign nations have been moving back to paper,” he said. “If you believe that most countries will use some form of digital voting 50 years from now, then blockchain is the only technology that has been created which can provide an end-to-end verifiable and fully-transparent voting solution for this future.”

One election in one country isn’t a movement – yet. However, Gammar and his team plan on expanding their product to other African countries and, eventually, to the rest of the world.

As for the election it is still unclear who won and there will be a run-off election on March 27. The winner will succeed President Ernest Bai Koroma who has run the country for a full decade.

What you mining and where did you cop the rigs? I gotta build a rig that looks like or fits into a tower so I can leave that shit at work and use their electricity.
I'm mining Zcash. I built my own rigs, 2 running SMOS (Linux OS) with a total 11 GPU's. Prices are crazy right now for GPU's though so you may want to wait for a dip since all the crypto is taking a hit.

TAX DAY IS coming fam!

You job isn't going notice a sharp spike in electricity paid? I mean depending on what you're trying to mine computing power is not decreasing for mining. Then there set-up cost to factor. I was set on mining for a while, but now I'm convinced masternode coins are a better route. The cost involved is purchasing the require amount for a specific MN coin and virtual server costs are cheap. I'm not even hitting $5 a month yet on Vultr VPS account.

what are your returns daily on average?

Recently, the whole market took a hit but I was averaging $400/month early in the year with 7 GPU's (1060's) now its closer to $300 with 10 GPU's but it is creeping back up. ROI is 1.5yrs at least so as I stated before, it ain't for short term gains. I acquired some other dude's rig cause he didn't understand that. Once I get that 2nd rig totally online, I'll have a solid number regarding the gains.

How about your electricity bills? How much more than normal are you paying? Is that $300-400 after bills? Also what was your total equipment set-up costs? Thanks for the info.

Which exchanges take FIAT besides COINBASE?
I'm usually a buy and hold type of dude but xfering from coinbase to Binance causes a tax effect.

I'd rather put FIAT into Binance or whatever the fuck exchange, buy the coin and hold. No tax effect that way.

BitConnect (BCC)

$32.99 :smh:
I'm still waiting for my money back from bitconnect or bitconnectx
Yo Trayvon James and CryptoNick got lyawyers. Wonder what the charges are.

Damn I haven't been on here since January .. good to see some of you fools. I'm trying to deal with some of this bullshit then go hard and retire in 2019.

I aint really been following that bitconnect shiznit it never appealed to me..

but from what I understand this bruh trayvon was running a pyramid scheme... and it appears a lot of folks are blaming him for their money lost...

bitconnect has a reputation for being a scam a ponzi scheme and it seems like him and crypto nick are being accused of profiting from it...

If I can put 3 or 4 GPUs in one of my old tower cases I will bring that shit to the job and plug it in under my desk. Let that shit run 24/7

Gdax but it is technically owned by Coinbase.

around $40/month...not exact science because I have added other non-mining shit since last year. I'll see if I can pull the data off of my Wattmeters...

Putting 3-4 in a regular case could be challenging (though not impossible). Assuming you are not using riser cables to connect the cards to the motherboard, you'd need a motherboard that supports 4 way SLI/Crossfire in order to be able to just plug them in. There's very little chance your existing motherboard has this feature. Also you'd need a case with 8 expansion slots, otherwise the bottom card will sag. And lastly, they'd be stacked directly on top of one another which means they won't be able to breathe unless you have all of the fans on the cards running at 100% (ie loud as hell).

There are few boards that allow you to have 3 cards with a space in between. So at least one card would be choked out, which means you'd have to run it loud like I mentioned above.

My existing motherboard is really old so I'd get a new MB that can hold 3 cards. I have a dremel so I can Add cutouts for additional fans if needed. If I can put it in the server room, I don't have to worry about cooling (cause of AC) or noise. For now I'm gonna look for the MBs that can 3 GPUs. You got any recommendations or links? I know you said Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter, etc.. but I'm not sure what route to take when it comes to the MBs and GPUs for cryptos. Thank you for your time fam.

it was @ bbuzzard who said Amazon, Newegg, Microcenter. But I agree with those places.

As far as motherboard recommendations, I'd say pick up the CHEAPEST motherboard and CPU you can that'll accommodate your desired number of cards.
