It not being organized fucked it up. Fucking up traffic was a disaster and ATL could not deal with that problem anymore. Plus the sexual battery issues got out of hand. It was only suppose to be for college students until the non college students fucked it up for them.

I went in 98'. That was one of the "wack" years. It was dope to me tho, especially being from tha Carolinas. At the time, I never saw so many beautiful black women in my life that were approachable. Yeah, we had black bike weekend in Myrtle Beach, but most of those chicks were busted.

Oh yeah only went to the 94' one but that was all I needed. I drank way too Saturday night and missed most of the street action. My favorite gathering was Black College Reunion 93' and 94'.

Sidebar, could you imagine this in the age of the #me-too movement!! Man we really were raised on rape culture, the men and the women lol. Lord knows I felt my share of ass and titties but some guys were really taking it too far and fucked shit up.

Also niggas can also blame Lil Kim, because when she said that line, "Want a cheap chick, take your ass down to Freaknik". Sheeeeeeeet

Yes and no. In the beginning it was very organized, because it was smaller and only included AUC students. "Freaknik" was just a name. My girlfriend at the time had an older sister who was an AKA, and she invited me when I was senior in HS. It was invite only in the beginning, and then, word got out. It got larger, so they moved it to larger parks, but it was still organized. But then, students in other states starting hearing about it, along with the locals and non-students from other cities. That's when it went pear shaped. You can't organize an event when you have NO idea that THOUSANDS of "outsiders" and unscrupulous promoters are going to hijack your shit. People started taking the "Freaknik" name literally, and the complicity of a few women made ALL women fair game, which was fucked up. Did I have fun? You bet your ass I did! Was it still fucked up? Yep! Do I long for those "good ol' days"? Nah, I did my time and moved on, others should too.

I know it was organized in the beginning, I was talking about when it became not organized when other non HBCU students started being involved in it.
