Just watched BLACK PANTHER and.......

definitely agree. Aside from Killmonger's vicious tactics and tryin to take the throne, T'Challa basically agreed with him, which is why he was so conflicted fighting him the first time. I thought it was very telling when T'Challa confronted his father the 2nd time in the ancestral plane, his gripe wasn't that he killed his brother, it was that he left the boy. He knew how harmful that was to Killmonger. And we got to see that in how T'Challa treated him after he beat him at the end....like c'mon cuzzo, let me show you the beauty of Wakanda cuz this shit is yours too. Then went back to his hood to honor his vision, but in a (perceived) better way. I thought the whole plight of the interaction between those two was incredible.

T'challa knew they had created him. It wasn't his fault. It was what he knew all his life and he was a product of it.
That is a message to these real life niggas that grew up way better, had every opportunity and no reason to be angry and lash out about some shit while they judge others who grew up harder and had to scrap for position. All these respectability niggas on this site too looking down while people who come from places where everybody dies is the attitude are judged as if they got to go to the private schools with all the best teachers and nutrition and didn't have lead pumped into their water supply and shit.

YES THEY BLACK TOO. HELP THEM. don't just sit back and say "Well we gotta protect our own" THEY ARE YOUR OWN TOO.

If you're beat down the only way you know how to fight back is the inflict that same pain.

The beauty of Killmonger is he was ready to DIE for his beliefs. Everyone else was scared of death and he himself had made peace with it. Liberating black people around the world was THAT important to him that his life didn't matter.
Even when he got stabbed he was like hell of a move. His crying was just plainly speaking about the things he was robbed of. As someone who's lost their father- thankfully not to murder- I can't tell you how many times I wish my dad was here, including last night.
This was a better adaptation of Malcolm X vs Martin Luther King Jr.

They could've saved him. He wasn't going to be locked up. Even when he dies he had to hit them in the gut.

"Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped off the ship because they understand that death was better than being in bondage"

You just gotta sit with that in your brain your cousin just told you about yourself

That line and when he killed Zuri and was like "Bye uncle Zuri" ......dude was a beast.

Every line. It's how he delivered them. The attitude. The I'm talking to you without respect. The way he talked to claw with straight up nonchalantness because he was using him from the beginning.
The way he was using the girl to get to Wakanda. Claw took her hostage and he said "It's going to be ok" in the softest tone that almost made her believe it and then shot her in the head.

He didn't hesitate. That's what I loved most. His vision his plan his way.
That chip on his shoulder made him strong.

Zuri like kill me it was my fault. He's like I'll kill you BOTH. clapped him up. picked up T'challa and tossed him over the edge then turned around. He's kicking T'challa ass talking shit to the congregation.

He pauses for dramatic effect when he has the guard in his grasp at the finale fight. They're like he's not going to kill her?
He takes the mask part off so you can see his face then he does it lol.

I felt it should have been more African inspired :dunno:

and Kendricks soundtrack could have been a inspired by project, or just incorporated the songs for when they were in America

Though I notice since Coogler is from the Bay he used Oakland and incorporated Too Short

Nerd

.

They actually did a cool mix imo during the down times it was just the super hero moments where the sound was too super heroey if that makes sense. blaring trumpets and things.
And I'll be the nerd in this case. We won't ever get to see Killmonger again.

To be on the real.... this shit right here.. Should have been on the Soundtrack.

:mike::mike::mike::mike::mike:

Update: This shit goes mutherfucking HARD!!!!!!!!

Best Parody track I've heard since WATCH THE STOVE.

Had to make this into a gif....

going to see it this week. maybe mid work week. was gonna go Thursday, but even with all the love in the theater, I still dont want to be around that many mofos at once.

Best scene in it he entire movie was Killmonger walking to the throne for the first time. They filmed the shit upside down!!! That was a perfect visual depiction of what was happening to Wakanda right at that moment. Kudos to Coogler for that.

yaaa man that was gangster as fuck...I knew who coogler was before but now I KNOW who he is...he etched his name in stone w/ this superior effort...so many subtle things done on a cinematic level that made this flick an absolute pleasure to watch...I am so fucking glad I saw this in theaters

Quit always trying to be the resident ass hole. You know what I mean
That's new to me. I'm sorry you feel I'm an asshole I was just saying the concepts in the movie were blending african with african from america and the continent so the music reflected as such. If you took it as me being condescending I apologize. I recognize I need to work on softening my delivery in certain times and that clearly was one of them.

I'm sorry man.

I hear you I was complaining my ass off before the movie started...a shitload of trailers that I’d already seen online...sitting in a packed theater...one cac dragging his fucking nose...some chic coughing up phlegm...2 other chics checking messages w/ the phone bright as hell but once the marvel opening credits started and it jumped into the opening scene I was hooked...plus the sound drowned everybody and their bullshit out

truly a gentleman...I’d told that bitch ass nigga to suck a dick and go to hell

Thanos will destroy Wakanda in Infinity Wars.

That is my thought not fact or spoiler.

I agree with both points. I think wakanda did the right thing. when Iron Man announced he was iron man, shit has been real from his from day one. He opened himself up to a larger world and what has he gained? Now it appears that Wankda will fall to the same issue. Once the world see what they have, there will be consequences from exposing who they really are and watch the REAL disruption of Wankanda begins. I'd protect my own first and foremost. Just my 0.02 tho.

Okoye
Powerful. Honorable. Strong. Brilliant fighter. Brilliant counsel. Brilliant leader. Brilliant tactician. Battle tested. Thorough. You want Okoye with you always no matter what.
And she's a woman.
Those characteristics I listed above are HUMAN traits. Women are human too. I am proud to have seen a black women be those things. Every bit of those things in a motion picture film that will be seen around the entire world.
She was NOT a prop. She was a supporting member but she was her own entity.
My favorite aspect on the selfish side is that she was all of that and STILL had a bf lol. She didn't have to sacrifice love to be all of those things like they tell women you gotta choose. Either be strong or have a man. You can do both.

notice ... not one sassy big momma type either

most filmmakers in Hollywood would still have found away to have a "sassy" one

Yes. I told several people this was everything a movie should be. It empowered everyone.
this was actually a feminist dream movie but of course it had to be a black person to craft this. To show them how it's done. This is the standard in how you show women and men working together in a movie.
